Description

Spend a day with the kids that is both fun and educational—head over to Zilker Park and take in the fantastic wildlife at the Nature Center. Albino raccoons, barn owls, snakes and other furry creatures roam about the petting zoo. While escaping the urban life, wander down winding trails and past the beautiful pond. Even though this park is in the middle of the city, nature permeates the surroundings, making every adult feel like a kid again.

What a great place!!

The Austin Nature and Science Center is located at Zilker Park. We heard about it from a friend and decided to take the kids(ages 5 and 9) one Saturday afternoon. This place is fantastic! The science center is full of learing activities for all ages. There is also hiking trail and ponds and even a Dino-dig where the kids can dig in the sand with shovels and pails and little brooms to discover GIANT fossils! My kids loved it and the Best part..IT IS FREE!!! Dont forget to leave a donation so we can keep this place a fun and entertaining learing experience for our youth!

The most wonderful place to go in Austin

The Nature Center is amazing! I can't believe nobody else as ever written a review about it. This place has everything you could want: animals to visit, great hiking trails, a dinosaur pit where you can dig up real dinosaur bones, a beautiful pond, and even great school programs! Probably the best thing about the nature center is that it's FREE! Take your kids there, or just take a next relaxing stroll yourself. You won't regret it. This is the place in Austin where animals are REALLY rescued!
