Top of the Hub, Boston

The Top of The Hub has a reputation not easy to find in the vast number of tourist attractions in ANY city. It has integrity. As a corporate event planner in Boston, I frequently entertain there, and I send people there repeatedly, having ONLY raves in return... When the possibility of establishing return business is diminished by repeated ONE timers, the management and bartenders, bus staff and waiters rise to the challenge of warmth and crisp hospitality as though one were returning on a weekly basis. The kitchen produces beautiful food in delightfully surprising presentations.

We simply love dining here. The spicy lobster soup is a treat, as is the warm cookie tray for dessert -- which comes with a serving of whipped cream. Lovely wines, great service and there's that view of the city from the 52nd floor. We often stop by for a drink and a nibble in the bar. On a rainy afternoon I had the mac & cheese in the lounge and it was delicious -- seasoned bread crumbs made the top crunchy, and the portion was so large that I didn't have dinner that night.

We went there for Mother Day brunch, and it was the most horrible experience with the most horrible food. The hot food was cold; the server had a cold; the salads were wilted. They charged for a 2 year old who was asleep and didn't eat a thing. Yukkk. No class.

Simply the best restaurant I have ever been to... :) perfect for a romantic date, but be prepared to open your wallet $$

Top price for average food and service. It does have the best view and okay bar. I was specific about how i wanted a drink and the wait staff didn't listen and started to argue with me...imagine. There are two sides of the restaurant the casual side and the formal side. You do get treated better on the formal side but it still isn't first class. As soon as you get off the elevator and meet the Host you feel like he is doing you a favor for talking to you. I don't know where they get these guys but they need some lessons in welcoming people. I do go there often still bring out of town friends because it is all about the view. I did put together a function and will say they did a great job. The need to get there bar menu up to speed. It is the right length but need some more comfort type food. It is the saddest menu in Boston and sadder when you get the food.

I enjoyed this restaurant. My significant-other and I went recently went for a classy dinner, and the food was above average. Prices were very expensive, although I know you are paying for the awesome view - it does offer a superb view of the city. Service was good. For a working-stiff like me, once-a-year for a special treat is enough.
