Went ther last night for the 3rd time in about 10 years. Previous times wer just ok. On this occassion the food was horrible. My wife's salmon smelled fishy and tasted fishy. My steak was all fatty. Oh and my wife's drink was warm. We sat next to the band area that was not there yet but hoards of tourists would come and stare out the window 6" from the back of my wife" chair. We complained and they moved furniture to prevent the crowds from breathing down our necks. The waiter was good but the food was the worst ive had in a long time. I'll never go back!

The Top of The Hub has a reputation not easy to find in the vast number of tourist attractions in ANY city. It has integrity. As a corporate event planner in Boston, I frequently entertain there, and I send people there repeatedly, having ONLY raves in return... When the possibility of establishing return business is diminished by repeated ONE timers, the management and bartenders, bus staff and waiters rise to the challenge of warmth and crisp hospitality as though one were returning on a weekly basis. The kitchen produces beautiful food in delightfully surprising presentations.

My mother and I were so excited about the view and food, but unfortunately as we were enjoying the view, we looked on the windowsill only to find a dead baby bird. We told our waitress about the dead bird and all she said was, "Poor bird." Next, a manager visited our table and saw the dead bird and simply said, "Maybe a falcon will get it." We were disgusted and had to cover our view with a large napkin and jacket. At the end of our meal, we suggested to a witch of a manager (the second manager to visit our table) that it would be a nice gesture for our dessert to be on the house. She refused and we were never offered to be moved until AFTER we were done with our meal. For such a high class restaurant, the management was rude and had no class.

Amazing views and food

A great place to go for a special night out. The food is great and the desert is amazing. The wine list is great. oh... and one can't go without sitting in front of the windows that overlook the amazing views!

We simply love dining here. The spicy lobster soup is a treat, as is the warm cookie tray for dessert -- which comes with a serving of whipped cream. Lovely wines, great service and there's that view of the city from the 52nd floor. We often stop by for a drink and a nibble in the bar. On a rainy afternoon I had the mac & cheese in the lounge and it was delicious -- seasoned bread crumbs made the top crunchy, and the portion was so large that I didn't have dinner that night.

Great Views
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/12/10
Offers amazing views of Boston. It has great drinks and great food. Had a t-bone steak there one time and it is still the best steak I have ever had. I would certainly recommend this place to people who want a great dinner with great views.

You definitely pay for the view here. I took my parents here for brunch when they were visiting. The food was very good, but nothing outstanding or memorable. The staff was attentive, but a little less professional than I expected. In short, a fantastic view that is great for tourists.

World-class view meets high dining at the top of the Pru!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/09
I've been here several times - with family, friends, and my girlfriend. The view is what you're really paying for, and it's well worth the wait and the bill. We entertain most guests from out of town by going to their bar seating (you don't need reservations but will likely have to wait a bit). You can still sit at a table and have a nice view. There's some minimum per person on the busy nights but it's irrelevant, you'll spend it anyway. We usually get a margherita pizza and mussels, or a tray of fresh baked cookies (with chantilly cream) depending on the time and context. Then we order from a variety of fancy martinis, rum and tequila cocktails, beers, or wines. They have quite a selection of cocktails and wines. The drinks and bar food are fittingly priced for downtown, and really, with the view it's pretty much a bargain. Meals become pricey but can be quite good, although I think better values can be found elsewhere. I did one Valentine's Day prix fixe there and it was fantastic. My girlfriend (a vegetarian) loved it as well. Highly recommended and worth driving quite out of the way for!

Romantic view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/09
The Top of the Hub is on the top floor of the Prudential building. While you have a romantic meal for two you can enjoy the sights of Boston as well. The menu is upscale in price and with ingredients. It is definitely for a special occasion.
