Athena stands 42 feet tall, towering above all who enter her temple through seven-ton bronze doors. Daughter of Zeus and patron goddess of wisdom and arts, her presence amidst Nashville's university and arts communities is appropriate. Other classical and modern works of art surround Athena. Her Parthenon and grounds, Centennial Park, are favorite spots for visitors to stroll or relax after a long day of site seeing.

Stunning!
By Dana L, 06/11/08
The sheer size of this statue will make your jaw drop. It was just amazing to see all the detail that went into something that large. At 42 feet tall, she's breathtaking and then I learned that what looks like a little tiny statue in her hand..is actually 6'4! Wow! Definitely worth the trip to see!

Parthenon=Athena Statue
By PhilK, 11/13/07
Visiting Centennial Park and seeing Parthenon was cool. Just sear size of the Parthenon and Athena was overwhelming. The park is located right across from Vanderbilt University. Admission is $5 Adult/$2.5 for Senior/child. Definately use a coupon for $1 off.

An old Pagan visits the Pagan Temple
By Fern Owl, 07/12/07
We went about 100 miles out of the way specifically to see the Parthenon and the Athena Statue. It was worth every mile of it! Standing 42 feet tall, the statue awakened deep feelings within me and it was hard to keep from dancing at the foot of the statue! Every Pagan should make a point to visit the Parthenon and anyone interested in Ancient history that can't afford to make a trip to see the remains of the real Parthenon can take a walk back through time by visiting this replica.

She's about 8 stories high!
By Romy, 10/31/05
Athena is a statue inside of the Parthenon in Centennial Park. It's $4 to go inside to see her. But there's more to the Parthenon than just this statue. You should go and check out the review under "The Parthenon" in the things-to-do section of Nashville. I enjoyed my visit to the Parthenon. =)
