Description
Before 1779, the area known as Nashville was an uncharted wilderness. On Christmas Eve of that year these first settlers traveled by boat down the Cumberland River and settled on this spot. The settlement became known as Fort Nashborough, from which Nashville later took its name. This replica of the original settlement is authentic in many details and reflects the lifestyle of the frontier pioneers of the late 1700's. Visitors can take a 20-minute self-guided tour.
right on the river in downtown nashville but there were a bunch of homeless, druggies and graffiti around. the buildings were very run down and not inviting
the building are falling apart and are not lighted so you can't see anything. If you want to see this kind of history you are better off going to Mansker's Station in Goodlettsville, Tn
Great display of history and exhibits and of course no charge...but the nearby park was dotted with vagabonds which made the brief visit not completely comfortable.
It is in down town Nashville by the river. If you can walk past the homeless that live near by then it's worth your time.
Only takes a few minutes to walk through.
