Tennessee State Museum

Description

From the pre-historic villages of Native Americans through early 1900's, Tennessee State Museum traces the rich and diverse history of the land that came to be called Tennessee. The powder horn of Davy Crocket, the Medal of Honor awarded to Sgt. Alvin York, and the hat of President Andrew Jackson as artifacts representing the daily life of ordinary folks are on display. Military history buffs will be especially interested in the military section, which chronicles Tennessee's involvement from the Spanish American War to World War II.

By TED, 4/3/08
this place is great the workers are cast and wearing clothing of the time they are working everyone was very helpful the exibits are well done we did not have to get on to our girls one time they stayed very tuned in to what we were looking at the only downfall is parking there isnt any we had to park in a parking deck 4 blocks away and so if waking is a problem this place may not be for you they have things that davy crocket made and things that belonged to andrew jackson great place

Great place for fun and learning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/07
It is so diverse, it offers so many interesting pieces to see and learn about. If the kids start losing interest just go on to the next item or room and it is a whole new experience. This was wonderful for a school trip and I am looking forward to taking my family back again soon.
