Animal City Pet Centers, Murfreesboro

Over the years I have gotten many animals there and I have always been pleased with the health and well-being of the pets. My cat came from Animal City ten years ago and he is still doing great. I recommend this place to all of my pet loving friends because you can get great pets and they have everything you need to care for them too.

I purchased a kitten from this store and he ended up beginning sick from the day i got him until the day I sadly had to take him back. I took him to the vet and was told there that they see many animals purchased from animal city and they are always sick with something. I did not like how I was treated, because the staff made me feel like it was MY fault that the kitten had been sick and then tried to force me to buy THEIR food. Which I thought was only a way for them to make money because they are the only store in town that sell that food. I am broken hearted because I had to return my little man, but I had to watch out for my other animals that I have had for years because apparently what the kitten originally had (which there was obviously another underlying cause) was contagious to my other animals. I even have family and friends that have had problems with their animals from here.I have decided that I am done with this store.

I took my friends little boy to see the animals and he loved it there!!! He said his favorite part was getting to feed cody!!! Thank you for letting him feed cody and making the day special for this little boy!!!! We will be back to visit soon!!!

What I liked about this store is how clean everything was. The animals are obviously happy and well taken care of and no wonder with the really nice staff of employess there. I at first didn't like how small it first appeared to be until I found the stairs that led downstairs into another wonderful and interesting room full of more pets and supplies and just as friendly staff.

Animal City has always been where my family goes for our pets and supplies. We got one of our puppies here 11 years ago. She did so well that we came back here when we were ready for another. That was six years ago and they are both still doing great!! The prices are good and the staff there are always friendly and helpful...and we had LOTS of new pet parent questions. We never need (or want) to go anywhere else

I have bought all of my pets from this store for years. I have never had any problems whatsoever. The folks who run the place are knowledgeable and helpful and there are two levels of different kinds of pets and critters. It is a wonderful store. I recommend it highly to anyone living in the Middle Tennessee area. I plan on going there right now and purchasing some more bedding for the Guinea Pig I bought there a couple of weeks ago. I am glad I saw there is a place to write a reviews.

Blue-tongued Skinks have either elongated toes or short stumpy ones. I am now the owner of the blue-tongued skink (with short stumpy toes) and he is perfectly healthy and interacts with children on a daily basis. They have always been helpful with me and whatever my needs, they have met them.

First, the reptiles and fish looked so bad. There's a Bearded Dragon there missing a foot and a Blue Tongue Skink missing all his toes. Then there is the poor wallaby stuffed in a little pin downstairs. I've tried contacting them several times regarding the poor husbandry and have had no response.

Animal City is one of the few pet stores in Murfreesboro that doesn't sell puppy mill dogs. All of their mixed breed dogs and all kittens are rescued. The staff is very nice and is always helpful. They have very sweet rats. I got my little girl, Pearl, at pet city and she is healthy and happy. I have had trouble at other pet stores with small mammals' quality, but Animal City is consistantly good. While the store itself could use a face-lift, I recommend Animal City.

Animal City had a promising beginning, but of late whenever I go in there it reeks of urine and the cages don't seem to be very well tended-to. The fish tanks are still fantastic, but pretty much everything else is looking rough. There was a gerbil running loose in the downstairs area last time I showed up, and the girl working seemed afraid to touch it--not exactly what I look for in pet store staff!
