Don't let the name fool you, you can't buy buckles or boots here, but you certainly should wear them when you come, and a good-looking Stetson hat wouldn't hurt either. Robert's Western World is a Nashville dance-club legend and its popularity has revitalized the entire Broadway area of town. Crowded, smoke filled and always noisy, this traditional honky tonk offers a cramped floor for two-stepping with your sweetheart and plenty of tables to relax with the coldest beer around, but be forewarned—there is no line dancing here. There just isn't enough room, and besides, Robert doesn't care for it.

best honkytonk in nashville
By freds, 02/07/07
my first trip to nashville was somewhat disappointing at first because i couldn't find any originality in the country music i have grown to love. every live music venue i went to seemed to be a re-hash of the one before it. that is, until i went to roberts. this place is truly authentic. i ended up spending hours upon hours there, and most of the music was fantastic. i particularly enjoyed john shepherd and his wife lois- who were very entertaining, and a super singer/songwriter named dave cox. guys like dave cox are what made country music stand out to me in the first place. a wonderfully talented and original songwriter with a smooth vocal delivery. i enjoyed his funny and poignant original songs so much that i bought all three of his cds and i can't quit listening to them! some day he'll be selling out concert halls, but you can see him now (along with other great acts) at roberts. if you're passing through the music city then be sure not to pass up robert's western world, and try to catch mr. cox's show. you'll be glad you did!

This is the place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/26/06
For REAL Country music, this is the place. We visited 8-9 establishments in Nashville last weekend, all with live music. Robert's was our favorite. Ike Jonson and the Road Rangers were playing and Ike has a great voice for REAL Country music. The food was good, the service was friendly, and all the people there were having a good time! I can't wait to go back!

Honky Tonk Heaven!
By Anna, 09/26/05
Lined with colorful cowboy boots and Hatch Show Print posters, Robert's Western World is the place to be, especially for a first-time Nashville visitor. The dance floor is perfect for two steppin' or any other kind of dancing that might fit the bill. If you're tired and just feel like being an observer, you can climb up to the small balcony and watch the action. Expect friendly service and patrons as well, people will probably ask where you are from. The only downside to this honky tonk is that people do smoke. You'll find this throughout Nashville, though. If you're just getting out of a show at the Ryman Auditorium, walk on over and see for yourself. The whisky and beer couldn't possibly be finer anywhere else!
