Sun Studio, Memphis

It was alot of fun and very educational!! The staff is absolutely wonderful, especially Lisa who works the soda counter! She is surely a prize!! Keep up the good work Lisa we all love you!!! You are awesome! Michelle

Don't blink or you will miss it. No fanfare around this historic place. Still just a little shack of a building but worth a gander if you're a fan of the blues.

We where there 2 years ago due to Katrina. We went on the tour we enjoyed every second of it. The tour guide was great. I would go back again. I felt like Elvis would walk in the room at anytime. This is a must see if you go to Memphis. Everyone there was nice. The tour guide she was wonderful and enjoyed everything she said.

Was accompanied by a local to get this tour... was not quite sure what to expect knew nothing about it. The tour was awesome. The history and the people who came together to make this such a legendary place is worth every penny. The tourguide Cody was very good and told us cool facts about the history of Sam Phillips and the studio along with playing some historic tunes for us. Very cool stuff.... if you have to choose btw. this or Graceland.... this is the stuff!!!

It's a little but great place with lots of history and great music. Add the coolest tour guide who loves his job and you are at Sun Studio. Don't miss it!

What I liked about Sun Studios was everything. I got to see music history up close and in person. It was great to see the place where Elvis Presley and other greats, made their music. Memphis is totally total. A must see!

This was a wonderful experience. My fiance, sister and I went with my 8 month old little boy. You aren't able to take a child under 5 on the tour, but Sun Studios makes up for this by providing the parents two free tour tickets (for current visity) and refreshments for the parent who is waiting with the child while the other spouse is going thru the tour. All workers and guides were very friendly. All in all, it was a wonderful experience!!!

I really enjoyed standing in the spot where all of the great musical talents in Memphis stood. The whole trip was very informational and entertaining. The CD I purchased helped me to relive the experience.

A lot of people who go to Graceland mistakenly miss Sun Studio - the place where Elvis walked in as a teenager and started history. But this is a great studio tour that's a little off the beaten path. In the upstairs part, you'll learn and see memorabilia from the beginning of Sun Studio. It's not just Elvis stuff - but Johnny Cash also got his start at Sun. They also let you stand where Elvis stood, and actually USE and get a picture with the microphone Elvis used! The tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable One word of caution - the Frommers guide book mentioned that there was a Sun Studio "diner" for before or after the tour. But other than a few cookies, there's not much there in the way of food. We made the mistake of not eating before, and then had to wait hungry until after the tour to eat. I'm from NY, where we take the word "diner" pretty seriously. :)

Slim gave a great tour. It was quick, cheap and educational. It's a cant miss place if you goto Memphis. The tour lasted under 30 minutes. It's a quick stop, but like I said before, it was well worth it.
