Memphis Botanic Garden, Memphis

I have always loved this place. The red oriental bridge is stunning.

Of all the things I did in Memphis, while I was there, this was the best. I really enjoyed a stroll through this garden. It was well maintained and it gave me some gardening ideals. I also took some beautiful photos.

The Big Backyard is the best thing to ever happen to the Gardens. My children beg to go and play in the many artful playhouses, the rain shower (bring a towel on a warm day), swings and of course feed the fish in the Japanese Gardens. I think a membership is well worth the money if you live close enough to go fairly often. If not, it's free on Wed. after noon...can't go wrong!

cost my hubby and me 5.00 each.Plus a dollar if you buy fish food.Was a beatiful way to spend an afternoon.i am sure it is prettier different times of year as different flowers and trees bloom.We rnjoyed the scenery.I especialy enjoyed standing on the red bridge feeding all the gold fish such beautiful colors of fish and lots of them.

I coordinated a wedding within the last six weeks there. The staff was absolutely terrible. The rules kept changing. Make sure this is what you want. Read your contract and make the staff put everything in writing. DO NOT TAKE THE WORD OF MOUTH. The alternative plan for the outdoor wedding if it rains is to set up a narrow hallway. I was told that the front lobby would be available. Every visitors will be able to join your event. The staff is also limited on weekends. The chairs,walls and refrigerator was very dirty.

My wife and I were looking forward to a very experience with well maintained plants and flowers and beautiful layout. We were somewhat disappointed with the overall experience. The distribution of the groups of plants and flowers was patchy for this medium sized area with little diversity. Descriptions of the plants and trees were either scarce or with little description. More than half of the cactuses plus other plants needed attentioned.

I volunteered here for a while. Nice gardens. Very well maintained. Great location. It's worth every penny.
