Awsome

Great course. Not very challanging but overall an excellent value and a great looking course. If your game is lacking as of late come here to make yourself feel good about your game.

Completely Renovated and Quite Nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
This golf course stretched out from the tips to the back of the greens might measure a bit over 6100 yards. That yardage is hardly considered long but the greens are pretty nice and fairly quick at times. The hybrid Bermuda greens when cut and rolled properly are challenging for sure but can become bumpy and grainy when not maintained. The rough presents an extra challenge for sure on many of the holes so avoid it for sure. The sand traps need a little more care and consistency and are hazards for sure so definitely avoid them like the plaque. The front 9 is more challenging in my opinion as water is most definitely a factor on holes 4, 7, and 9. Hole # 4 is the only hole with out of bounds to the right but still not in play for most players. The back 9 presents water only on the 10th, but OB is in play on 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18; however, it is shorter in length, and only has one par 5. With 3 par 5's and 5 par 3's the par is 70. As far as Memphis city owned public golf courses go, this one is the prettiest by far. Everyone can have a great time on this course, especially amateurs. Greens fees are $39 on weekends with a cart. Micky Barber is the head pro and a very fine pro for sure. Enjoy!!!

Galloway= Convenient/Fun
By rhallzng, 03/09/07
Galloway is a good test of golf for the average golfer but it should be played from the back tee box to be enjoyed.Many of the shorter par fours require acurate drives and have a significant amount of risk vs reward.It is centrally located and of the four or five Memphis public golf courses this one is usually the best manicured and not to hard to get on and play. Par threes on this course are good tests and the finishing hole is good hole to test your nerves with Walnut Grove Rd as the left side out-of-bounds.If you can sneak out of the office Galloway is a fun track and has smaller greens that are sure to test any skill level.Great hot dogs,service,green fee price and service is A-1!

Rude Starter
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/06
I had recieved a comp round and was treated like I was a child. The starter told me to stay on the cart path repeatedly before starting the round. The starter was rude from the moment I gave him the white payment slip. He argued that a cart was not complimentary with the round and shrugged his shoulders in front of other customers. I played two holes and quit because I was so angry from the starters actions. I used to play this course 4 times a week by myself and with alot of buddies. WILL NEVER bring friends back or go back myself, let alone suggest to other people. If you are reading this, I highly suggest Audubon, which is right down the road, charges the same price, and are not limited to the cart path only. Greens are also in better shape than galloway. However, the other staff members seemed to be okay.

Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/04
Being from California this course doesn't rank up there with any of the canyon courses with elevated tees and beautiful views. It's a fairly short course that is fun to play if you are looking for a golfing fix and your in Memphis. If you are a long driver you may find the par 4's turning into par 3's for you as a number of times I was only 20-30 yards from the green.
