Brother Juniper's Inn
An Eastern Orthodox Priest runs this unassuming restaurant. It is often difficult to find a table, but worth the wait. Try the huge, fluffy homemade rolls, both wheat and white. The omelets can be ordered with a variety of toppings including spinach, mushrooms and feta cheese. On the side, try the sauteed potatoes, which can be topped with black beans, Swiss cheese, green onions or salsa. The decor is simple with red and white checkered tablecloths and few pictures. There are two dining rooms or you may eat at the bar. Classical music, makes this a pleasant place to start the day.
The only slight problems I've had are that 1) you sometimes have to wait to be seated, and 2) it sometimes takes a while for your food to arrive.
So, make sure and allow yourself enough time.
I heard so much about this restaurant that I was skeptical. Since I was going to Memphis for several days with my family, I had to try it. Just how different or delicious could you make a breakfast? I not only ate my words, but almost everything they had to offer on the menu. I wished I could have eaten more, but it was getting hard to zip my jeans. I especially liked the fact that everything arrived at the table piping hot. The family that runs Brother Juniper's serves high quality food with friendly service, and has built a beautiful community restaurant. I live in a city with great restaurants, but Brother Juniper's is something special. Don't Miss it. Yummy!!
The food here is really good, The portions are amble for the price you pay. It is very cloase to The University of Memphis Campus and prices are reasonable. I have eaten several items on the breakfast and lunch menus and have never been dissappointed.
My family absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was delicious. I had Rachel Ray's favorite omlet and I must say it was one of the best I have ever tasted. The cheese grits was delicious.
Our server was very courteous, as was everyone else there. I would definately recommend this restaurant to anyone.
After leaving our daughter at college, this was the perfect treat for mom and dad!

I like to eat food that is better than I can cook, and Brother Junipers delivers that and more! I loved the raw chopped tomatoes and green onions on my open faced omelet and was impressed with how quickly the food arrived. My husband and I both cleaned our plates and went away happy. We plan many return visits while our daughter is in school in Memphis
I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot. The vegetarian selections and the array of spices and hot sauces were an unexpected plus. If you're going to Memphis, plan to stop by and bring a mug to leave!
Brother Juniper's truly is the gem of Memphis. The owners greeted and treated us like we were family - both times we went during our short stay.
And the food....I very highly recommend everything - from the homemade biscuits to the open-faced omelets (with cheese grits). I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had 4 cups of their special coffee. And their sugar-free fruit preserves? Heavenly.
It's like going to grandma's house for breakfast. The portions are generous. The food is fresh and tastes excellent. I'd heard others talk about how great it was while I was living in Memphis, but I didn't actually eat there until I'd moved away. Yummy! I'll never go out for breakfast anywhere else in Memphis again. It is a little hard to find if you're not familiar with Memphis--it's tucked behind Goodwill on Highland St just south of Park (and the University of Memphis main campus).
