Carolina Safari Jeep Tours, Myrtle Beach

This was HORRIBLE! It was pouring rain the entire time. My wife called to get a refund, she was told no. That we could reschedule. The "jeep" was ancient and it sounded like the transmission was slipping in and out of gear! The seatbelts on the boat seats looked like they came from a junkyard and were tied in knots to the seats. I noticed one of the seats was missing a bolt where it attached to the floor. We were all soaked, even the driver! It looked like the canvas roof up front had dry rotted and the poor guy was getting soaked! The microphone did not work most of the time, the driver had to yell everything. We did not get out to walk through the cemetery because of the rain. From what I can remember, the information was interesting, a little far fetched I think! I do not recomend!

We loved the tour. We were a family of 10 and we had a blast. My favorites were the cemetary and the plantations. The kids loved seeing the alligators and hearing about the pirates. Our guide said they can customize the next trip for us to go to different locations. We will definitely plan another jeep safari. Thank you for a great time!

Now this tour is a keeper. We returned to Myrtle Beach for our third visit in about 5 years but we had never taken the tour. My husband and I, our teenagers and our 12 year old came along for a remarkable excursion. All of us enjoyed the jeep ride which felt like Jurassic Park without dinosaurs (OK, we did see a bunch of alligators) but our seasoned guide was perfect at combining all the educational information and making it an exciting experience. There is so much around here that we never saw or even dreamed of lkke the plantation areas, the haunted graveyard which is quite beautiful and fascinating and learning about the salt marsh ecology and the pirates and so, so much more. My husband really liked the barrier island and the slave cabins and the African history while I enjoyed the nature preserve. The kids really were enthusiastic and liked that we could snack while on the jeep. We are still talking about the tour and I do think we will try it again during another season when we return next Thanksgiving to visit. We would not hesitate to recommend this and I can see where all ages would really enjoy this. The walking around is not taxing at all but enough to captivate the passengers and keep them moving. Off the normal touristy stuff, it is really meaningful.

Will never take this tour again, This old guy who said he was the owner was creepy and kept making comments to all the teenage girls on the tour, I guess because they really did not like the tour. The family next to us was getting upset as well because the tour guide started to drive super fast and seemed to be upset with the group, they told me they smelled alcohol on his breath and were concerned. Thank god we made it back to the hotel. I called and tried to talk to the owner and he told me the tour was not for everyone and never come back and NO refunds. You believe that!! All the money we spent to be told never come back. My family and the others in our group will take that advice and never take this tour again.

This tour was such a great time for my entire family (and the rest of the folks on the tour, too). We loved the jeep, it provided such a good atmosphere of something fun and different. The points of interest were well chosen and the guide really knew his stuff and could relate it in a way that made everything come together. We had different ages on board from young to seniors and everyone had a great time. I would say it is an easy time, no big walking, restroom stops, you can snack onboard and so on. I would highly recommend this. Although we came on a gorgeous fall day--summer or spring would be fun too. They put on clear sides for the wind as of November they said. The whole tour is really fun and a great thing to do in this area. Great time!! Thank you, Carolina Safari tours.

Jeep brokedown during the first part of the trip. Had to take everyone back to their original stops. They did either refund you or let you reschedule. Jeep is old and uncomfortable for older partons. Tour guide was good but condition of Jeep was too much to over come. Wasted 2 plus hours and didn't see anything.

What a wonderful Tour we had, Sam is the best, great sense of humour and he made history and learning fun. Will definitely be telling all my friends who go to Myrtle Beach to check you guys out, well worth the money, it was not at all what I expected, it was 100 times better! Thanks for a great time :)))

It was nothing like we expected. The jeeps are old and run down, The seats are not comfortable and the tour takes a long time. I was wandering if the jeep was going to make it back! We drove for a long time with the tour stops far in between. This tour is not for young kids or older folks. There are much better tours in Mrytle Beach. I hope the owner reads this review because for the amount of money they charge for this tour you would think they could afford newer equipment and Jeeps. Just being honest.

This tour provided my husband and me a great overview of Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area. Joe, our tour guide, gave it his ALL. The tour more than met our expectations. Spend the money on this one.....you won't regret it (and may you be lucky and get Joe).

Yes, they should have more pictures about the tour. But the reviews sold me. I am going the week of August 20th. I will write a review when I get back and not before. Don't judge the book by its cover. Read it first!
