Myrtle Beach Bike Week
During the second week of May every year, the Myrtle Beach area is inundated with 80,000 motorcycle enthusiasts who come to fraternize with fellow Harley Davidson devotees. There are a few hundred vendors selling everything from t-shirts to motorcycles. If you don't have a bike, you can rent one. Events include a swap meet, live music, entertainment, a memorial poker run, stunt shows, a rock 'n roll fashion show, raffles, tattoo contests and much more. Events are held all over the city; admission is free.
David Britton came to the council meeting this evening in opposition to Myrtle Beach bike weeks. He represents these hotels:
Beach Vacations - Oceanfront condos
Long Bay Resort
Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort
Dunes Village Resort
Monterey Bay Suites
Sea Captains House Restaurant
Myrtle Beach National Golf
Island Vista Resort
Ocean Blue Resort
Barefoot - North Tower
Barefoot - Yacht Club
The best time I ever had at a bike rally. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were very resonable. It was the best view and the biggest strip I have ever seen. Thanks Myrtle Beach for the best time ever Alice Reese
Just got home from Myrtle Beach Bike week. Our 6th year. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves every year hanging out at the Dead Dog Saloon in Murrell's Inlet, riding the back roads and trying to ferret out new restaurants. If you're not into heavy traffic and heavier partying, go early in the week and get out of town before the last weekend. We made the mistake of staying through Sunday a few years ago and it took us forever to get from Myrtle to 95 because of the traffic. Go early, be careful and have fun. We'll see you at the Dead Dog next year.
I have been to a lot of bike events and this beats all that ive been to. hands down This was our friends from mishigan first vacation ever and he said that he cant wait to come next year! Belive me you will not be disapointed!!!!
I go to Myrtle beach bike week every year, we actually leave tommorrow night for this bike week 2008! and now my family is actually thining about moving there! It is awesome! I wouldnt go anywhere else, the only downfall is all of the major accidents that happen every year! but other than that there are so many places to eat such as Dicks crab shack which is actually really fun to go to and the beaches are amazing! I reccomend going if you havent yet!
I grew up vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Been going there about 40 years!! But, my first bike week was last year. I loved it and will go every year from now on. This year three of my children will be with me. The other son can't get leave, he goes back to Iraq in June:(
The beach, restaurants, bars, nightlife are all great. It is much easier to get around now with 17 & 17bypass.
Someone asked, "why can't they put it all in one place? I don't see how you could. Besides, I think that is what makes it great, you can ride north or south and there is always something to see or do.
See ya'll in a few days!!!!!
If you like motorcycles, this is one of the coolest experiences ever! Worth the trip to Myrtle Beach! Over and above the second week of May during Bike Week, this is the place to come for golfing, beaching, and entertainment. Try the Dixie Stampede, Carolina Opry, Alabama Theatre, Legends in Concert, and the Comedy Cabana for some great entertainment! My husband and I like it so much we have a second home in North Myrtle Beach and make it down six times a year.
I loved Spring Bike week in MB. 2006 and 2007.
Never was a biker chick before I met my boyfriend. He took me there and I thought I was going to be in trouble! I had the time of my life. the outside bands at Broadway @ the Beach. Then Bearfoot Landing. We rode all the way down to Surfside. The BEST was evenings at the DOG HOUSE South! What an experience! The food was fantastic cooked outside on a grill.
Well worth every penny spent!
I fell in love with bikes and Him!!!
I hope he invites me back!
