National Shag Dance Championships
Description
If you have never seen anyone do the Shag (described as "a jitterbug on Valium"), you owe it to yourself to see the finals of this contest; these dancers are the best. Dancers compete in five categories including professional, non-professional, Junior I (14 years and under), Junior II (15-20) and Masters. The contestants are judged on smoothness, degree of difficulty, togetherness, execution and repertoire. National winners have appeared on Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and other national shows. Cost varies by venue.
