Amazing!
By Crystal, 10/31/09
We only spent a few hours there because of time. My husband fought me to go, but he ended up really enjoying himself. Absolutely gorgeous! We didn't get to do the boat ride or any of the other extras, but just walking around the gardens was beautiful. I would go back.

Visit again and again!

This a wonderful place to visit. Great Live Oaks Trees and just great statues and peaceful grounds and settings. The boat ride was very interesting. This is a must to see! Would visit again and again.

One of the most beautiful places on earth
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/09
There was nothing to dislike. It is amazing. I love the giant live oaks. The zoo really touched our hearts. This is a "must see" for anyone anywhere near Pawleys Island.

Beautiful
By LeighC, 5/10/08
I live about ten minutes away from Brookgreen and it's always been the best place to go. I went there to camp during the summer when I was little which was a lot of fun, too. All the animals are wonderful, including wolves, deer, otters, alligators, water birds, prey birds, all kinds of birds, horses, chickens, and loads of banana spiders. The sculptures are fantastic and you can wander around the gardens for days and still love them just as much. It's a great place to go, but me and my family just have to go there more often!

Most relaxing day
By Kathleen, 5/30/07
Brookgreen Gardens is the most amazing place! The variety of sculptures is wonderful. From Greek god and goddesses to any animal you can think of ( including an attack squirrel), to a childrens garden with all sorts of things to spark the imagination, it is great. The boat trip is well worth the small extra expense. The alligators alone are worth the price. The trails through the animal park and along the river are a birdwatchers paradise. I have spent many happy and peaceful hours there.

An absolute "must" for art lovers
By patricia, 5/4/07
If you like art of any sort, Brookgreen Gardens is not to be missed. I first visited there 53 years ago and return often! It is magnificent: "a restful place for the soul". A glass of wine and some light treats at the restaurant help make the time at Brookgreen even more enjoyable. It is amazing the number of "art lovers" who've never heard of Brookgreen, one of my alltime favorite places to see outstanding sculpture, relax, and think. Oh! And be sure to visit the Hyatts' home at the state park across Hwy. 17 (perhaps on another day). An unusual and perplexing residence, well worth the admission cost.

Wonderful experience!
By leslie, 10/20/06
Acres of gardens, sculpture, animals, birds, so much beauty in one place. It takes more than one day to see everything, you get a 5 day pass with one 14.00 admission, a great value. Huntington State Park is across the street and we brought a picnic lunch to enjoy over there afterwards. 5.00 admission to the park. Tour the Huntingtons winter home, a unique experience, and walk on the beautiful beach. Best day we spent in S.C.
