Crocodile Rocks, Myrtle Beach

I am British and live and work in Scotland. I have worked and lived in the USA and visited the USA on many occasions. Up until I visited Crocodile Rock I have always been made to feel welcome and have found American people to be polite and friendly. A long haired scruffy looking piano player ruined that perception by being impolite and in a vulgar manner extremely abusive towards Scottish people. We all immediately left and I strongly advise any person that values the words respect and decency never visits this establishment until they have removed this individual who is a very poor representation of American people.

We were also there on said night of bald guy singing, who we thought was entertaining, but like I have just read below for another opinion, we weren't sitting next to him, we were up on the upper level..reviews of this night are also on tripadvisor...interesting two completely different sides to what happened...I will only comment on what a fun night it is, and to address the tip thing...yes its all about the tips, but hey everyone has to make a living, and I say whatever....its all in fun...don't tip for a song if you don't like that kind of thing...I tipped 5.00 and they played my song..that same night of the ruckus a very nice red haired bouncer helped me navigate my way towards the pianos to request a song, he was polite to me...as far as the three words or less sayings, they were hilarious..and we laughed, sang, and had a big time, what more do people want...

I went there with a couple of my friends on Wednesday night. We had a fantastice time, and yes there was a large man standing and dancing throughout the evening. I believe this is the point of dueling pianos. In fact, several times the pianomen themselves encouraged him and others to stand and sing along. We were in the tables near him and never once heard anyone complain about this man or his party. When he was asked to leave by the small nasty bouncer my buddy was near the door and saw the whole thing up close. He did NOT have a dronk in his hand and simply asked the bouncer what the problem was. They did not answer and promptly started punching him. One of the bouncers threw what I now believe is his sister out of the way while she was trying to lead him out and they peppersprayed them both. Myself and several others stayed around to speak to the police and security and are still outraged at the blatent lies the manger was telling. I am hoping this man pursues court action. To go out and sing at a piano bar is the very least that is expected. If that other party wanted a quiet night out they should have gone to see a movie!!

We're from Ohio and heard a great deal about Crocodile Rocks, so we decided to go. The place was fantastic, except for this fat bald idiot at the table next to ours who kept standing in everyone's way. We asked him to move, and he just started pointing at us and singing, like he didn't care about anyone else. We couldn't see the piano players because he was so wide, and it was ruining our night. The security asked him to move multiple times and finally after the fifth or sixth time he was asked to move, he was escorted to the door where he proceeded to pick on the tiniest bouncer there who must have been "the new guy". The small bouncer grabbed the drink from the man's hand and a tussle ensued and Four guys needed to escort him out until the largest bouncer came running from the back of the bar and tackled him out through the door. Then the security came and thankfully arrested the big man, hopefully he's still in jail for the way he behaved. The comment below mine does no justice to how rude and obnoxious this man (or this whole group) was, he was ruining everyone's night and never listened to anyone who told him to sit down. I spoke with the bouncers after the incident and they were all very nice. The large one (who I assume is the boss by the way everything was handled) introduced himself and was very apologetic that we had to experience that and kept asking if there was anything we needed, he was extremely kind and personable, even after he had been peppersprayed. We ended up leaving shortly after because of the whole situation, but I still had a great time. I recommend the Badass drink, one of those is all you need. I will be going back next time I'm in town and hopefully that man will not be allowed in and the large bouncer will be working because I feel safer there with the security like that. Great place!

I would like to speak to you about some serious abuse that my brother and I received at Crocodile Rock last night, July 11th. We were singing along with the songs and a bouncer singled my brother out to eject him as he was standing up and singing (the pianomen had asked us to stand several times) He went to the door with one of the bouncers and I accompanied him. He was asked to leave. I said that we would, I wanted to settle my tab. My brother asked what he did and a bouncer grabbed him anbd started to punch him. Two ther bouncers were there and they all grabbed my brother, Steve. I was in the mix trying to break up the fight and take my brother out peacefully but these bouncers were beating him. The Boardwalk security guards came and someone covered us in very strong pepper spray. I was thrown to the ground. Several people came to our aid demanding to know what Steve did wrong. Two other men tried to protect Steve as well and were doused in pepper spray. My brother and one of the other men were handcuffed and he was left in a corner with pepper spray dripping all over him. He is asthmatic and was left suffering. There was a huge crowd around us as everyone who saw what happened left the club mystified- we waited for police and the manager came out and lied about the entire situation to be sure that my brother was arrested. I have the phone number of some strangers who were outraged enough by our treatment to want to testify on our behalf. My brother was taken to jail and I bailed him out this morning. Both he and I still are in pain from the pepper spray. More than anything, I would like you to report on this blatent abuse and lying. I thought the point of the piano bar was to sing along?? The public needs to know about this.

This place is fun, but its also a commercialized money pit. They use everything they can to suck as much money as they can out of you. Especially the idiots that throw money at the 3 words or less board. They pianists are good, but dont expect them to play your song for any less than 5 dollars as a tip. Because they will just pocket your money and throw your request away. They will try to get the drunks rowled up by playing state/college songs to get people tothrow hundreds of dollars at them to play their own stupid state song....I cant believe the fools that throw their money around like that, for the 3 minutes of attention they will get. They will constantly tell you that 20 dollars will get your song played right away.....I guess 5-10 is not enough to play right away.......They constantly cuss, perverted conversations about women and performing oral sex.......Ive been to this place about 4 times, 3 times too many. If you have never been here, and can enjoy the XXX performance, go for it. If you go more than once, you will see that its pretty much the same thing every night. Same songs, same perverted stories and conversations, and same crap to get drunks to throw money at them.

I went there and was not thinking I was gonna have a good time! I walked in and was shocked that locals get in free and the place was mobed. I could barly move and the four guys who took turns playing the dueling pianos were incredable talanted and some were gifted in humor to boot.... I was crazy happy to be there and super amped to see the slutty hanger on chicks getting made to look a fool! Go and see for yourself its a good time take mom and dad they were a few of em sittin next to me howling with laughs!!!

A group of friends and I went on Saturday Feb 11th and had a blast! The only downer of the night was the announcement the Whitney Houston has died. The drinks were delicious the guys singing & playing the pianos were awesome & their humor kept us in stitches! This was my 1st time at Crocodile Rocks..which I am now ashamed to say since I live in Myrtle Beach. I thought it would be "old fashioned" music & a bunch of cigars smoking..lol. It was just the opposite! YOU decide what songs they play by requests. If they don't know the words they will make 'em up! HAHAHAHA!!! We will definitely be going back ............very soon!

We went on a Friday night (Sept 30, '11) , got there at 7:40 so we would get a seat, and had a BLAST! I went to beach last year but did not get to visit. This year I was going reguardless! It is by far my favorite places to go while at Myrtle. The place makes is one of my highlights of going to Myrtle. I would recommend Crocodile Rocks to anyone who enjoys singing and piano playing with a lot of comendy! We drove 7 hours to get there just to hear Mark play piano and watch Danny kick that fiddles ass! This year was by far the best yet! I got a picture with Danny and I got a picture with Mark on stage at the piano. Also even got to hit the piano keys jammed on by these guys! A few reviews have mentioned money... well if you want to play you gotta pay! I spent around $130 but it was worth every penny. See you guys from Crocodile Rocks next Sept! Keep jammin'! Thanks! There is nothing to dislike! We love this place we have! We have made it a family tradition to go for our birthdays as a girls night out. We really enjoy having drinks and listening to top hit music that you can sing along with.
