Spirit of Carolina Dinner Cruise, Mt Pleasant

The cruise was OK, different then the usual restaurant dinner but certainly not worth the cost. The dining/seating area was small and unless you book a windows seat you may be sittng with strangers. But even with the window seat it still feels like you are sitting at the same table.The food wasn't the best either, I agree with another poster where the food was bland. If they improved the seating and food I would give it 5 starts but for now I will give 3. I do find it unfortunate that When a customer books a group where they were suppose to be seating together and then ignored that is just bad business. THEN on top of that when veterans were refused to seated together......... what do you call that? I don't know if those people booked online or called but in my opinion it is safer to call them directly and be sure to ask for the name of the seating operator in case of any problems.Who knows how often they check the online seating bookings.

We went on a lunch cruise. Were told turkey sandwiches, chips... What we got was a high school outing, we ate with them, turkey in broth, greeen beans and stale rolls, when I asked about the dinner cruise, I learned this was the left overs from last nights the children were kids of course, loud.... The man who sang was a joke, he could not remeber the words to the songs, he sang loudly on the chorus and muttered the rest of the song, they assured us that another sang for the dinner cruise.

On Sept. 29th I was with a group 0f 14 - that booked a cruise with Spirit of Caroline. Booking well in advance we were assured our group would be seated together. Come cruise day day our group was split up - trying to get our group together we were directed to a Mr. Tim ( who seemed to be in charge) ... These negations went nowhere - It was all down hill from there. The food was mediocre at best - If I had to rate this cruise I'd be hard pressed to give it a one star at best. My advice to anyone thinking of booking with Spirit - find something else to do in Charleston.

Know that when you arrive & you made a reservation months in advance for a special occasion & was told you would sit together, that they lie. We were given 2 separate tables (one where the waiter staff bunked into you every time they passed by & the other table between a wall & bar (NO WINDOW). I nicely mentioned this to Mr. Tim & was given numerous excuses. He did not accomidate us nor appoligize for this mistake. This is no way to treat old soldiers & their wives. We were very, very dissapointed. We were accomidated every place but this cruise. Dont recommend.

Over 40 years of dinner cruises from the Halifax to the Hudson, the S.F. Bay to Puget Sound , It was unfortunately the worst meal for the money I have ever had. It cost $48.50 each for half a cup of cold soup, wilted salad, and the main courses ( 4 to choose from ) were all small and tasteless. There were 14 people in our group. The dining room was jammed , I had better food & more room on a troup transport in the Army. The worst part was the unaocomodating arrogance of the dinning room manager a- Mr Tim -.Once you left the dining room you were on your own. If you wanted a table on the observation deck you had to fight for it. there were no ship officers , crew members , stewards, or servers. The only people who rate this Cruise ship higher than a 2 star must be either share holders in the company that own's the ship, or relaited to the crew.

This cruise features an outstanding menu. The route around the harbor is interesting and pretty. The boat is well equipped. I was not thrilled with the music, slow jazz. Also, I believe the waiter mixed up many of the entrees as several people were surprised by the way their steak was cooked.

The food was the best! This was my second trip and I will be going back!

I really enjoyed the harbor cruise. Food is really good! There is a live band and a place where you can dance. Also, you can order drinks and there is a place for you to go outside to enjoy the scenary. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. I have been on at least 3 and have never had a bad experience!

I had made plans for my husband and I to spend some time together with out the kids. He was coming home from Iraq for 14 days. And we had the best time ever. Everyone one one the crusie was great. Plus when I made the reservations they asked if it was something special. I did inform them he was home from Iraq. During the dancing they annouced that he was home and had been over their. I know that made him fell so good. We will go back again. Once he comes home again. Thank you everyone.

We were short on time, hungry and wanted to see the harbor: this tour was the answer. The food was good, but not 5 star. Our server was excellent. The cruise itself was very nice with the night view of the bridge between Charleston and Mount Pleasant being my favorite. If another couple is not going with you be sure to get reservations at a table for two (otherwise you will end up sitting at a small table with strangers). For the price this is an great way to spend the evening: you get a tour of the harbor plus dinner! I would enjoy doing this again.
