Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

Description

In existence since 1676, Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is a journey back through time. Walking along a numbered path, you will find many beautiful cypress and live oak trees along the river. The Barbados Tropical Garden, Biblical Garden, and Horticultural Maze offer a variety of landscaping styles. Don't forget to keep an eye out for wildlife. Several slave cabins and worker homes still stand on the property, and free talks are given at various times. Tickets are also available for purchase for entry to the Plantation House, the Nature Train, the Nature Boat, and Audubon Swamp Garden; all include a guided tour. For those who ride bicycles, several trails wind through the woods. Plan to spend several hours at this fascinating plantation. See their website for further information.

Enjoyable Miniature Horses and Donkey
By ,
I am a season pass holder because this is a place to revisit. Each season offers opportunities to see different things. The miniature horses and donkey are amazing. The petting zoo is alot of fun for young and old. This is an opportunity to explore a beautiful plantation.

Go on a not so hot day!
By ,
We enjoyed our trip to the Plantation and Gardens. It was in the high 90's that day, but they cant be blamed for that. We took lots of great pictures (some in places we maybe shouldnt have been). As others have said, the regular admission will give you more than enough to do and see, and the petting zoo is fun. I'd give it an 8 out of 10! Jose P. Rochester NY

Highlight of our trip to Charleston
By ,
The Plantation was beautiful. The tours were interesting, but the admission fee was pricey. I would definitely recommend going to the Magnolia Plantation when visiting the Charleston area.

coming back again March 2011- wedding pictures
By ,
We are coming back again on our visit to the low country, getting married on St. Patricks day in St. George and plan on spending next day in gardens for our pictures. We currently have pictures from last trip. I think it is a magical, beautiful place to visit. The Beagles!

Wedding at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens
By ,
We recently worked at Magnolia Plantation and I can tell you that you will for sure not be disappointed. There are a handful of absolutely magnificent backgrounds/settings on the property that could hold wedding related activities. While most locations on the grounds are outdoors there are also a few indoor options creating a truly versatile wedding venue. absolutevid_dot_com

Beautiful, will return
By ,
I was referred here by a coment of a friend, who said Magnolia was like being in the Garden of Eden. The romantic style gardens of the 1800's is prevelant at Magnolia, simple walkways filled with the beauty of nature, alive now with colorful azaleas. I will refer my friends here and I will also return to visit.
