Located on a site that was part of the original city of Charles Towne, 82 Queen has won awards for its outstanding cuisine. During spring and fall, the courtyard is a pleasant place for diners to enjoy the outdoors. Well-known chef Steven Kish is the genius behind the food. For starters, the she-crab soup laced with sherry will whet your appetite for more. The Shrimp and Chicken Gumbo with Andoille sausage, stewed tomatoes and okra presents a culinary twist on a traditional southern favorite. No checks; attire is resort casual.
82 Queen is one of the upscale restaurants of Charleston. Be prepared for high prices. It has a gorgeous courtyard with intricate furnishings, sparkling lights, and an ambience that really makes the dining experience an unforgetable one.
The She Crab soup here is excellent. Rich, creamy, and delicious. Probably one of the best you will find in Charleston, or even SC for that matter.
The entrees are decently sized, asthetically presented, and delicious. We were served by a professional staff and had an average wait time for our food.
This restaurant tastes as good as it looks. The food is innovative, served beautifully and is delectable. Eat outside if possible. The the crab benedict or the shrimp and grits. Their grits are no less than fabulous. If you have never had grits, you must have theirs. They will make a grit lover out of you. This place is a little pricy but it is a case of getting what you pay for. The wait staff was very friendly. We go there every visit. We tell everyone about it.
if you decide on 82 queen you must request a table in the courtyard. it simply can't be beat for ambiance in the historic city of charleston. Food is good, as well as service but the ambiance is what gets you coming back
82 Queen has been around a long time in a very competitive restaurant market where even great places quickly go out of business. It is no accident that 82 Queen sticks around. Go have the classic She Crab soup and sit outside in the back on a spring evening it is hard to beat. There may be other restaurants in town that are the flavor of the moment, but you can count on 82 Queen.
