Bank of America City Center
You do not have to go to New York City's Rockefeller Center to capture the flavor of outdoor ice-skating and events. The Bank of America Skating Center has 14,000 square feet of skating space. Concession stands and skating rentals are available in the 3,500-square-foot pavilion. The rink-side PrimeSource Gift Shop sells skating accessories and Providence memorabilia. The rink also converts into a roller blade arena during the summer months.
We live in RI and it's a tradition that we go ice skating on New Years, we have 3 boys and they love it! It's a perfect first date place, the ambiance couln't get any better!! We definitely reccommend it to everyone!
Kids of all ages on skates darting in and out and falling all over the place. This is a good skate in Providence if you can't get to a bigger arena. It's adequate size for the crowd (we went on a Sunday night when it was probably relatively crowded) although, being older, I would have liked a little less daring speed skaters.
As of 1/6/2008, Adults were $6 admission and $4 to rent a pair of skates and the hours are good for everyone, whether you want to go early or grab a bite at the nearby Providence Place Mall and then go, it's a blast. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Providence in the winter.
The skating space is a reasonable size. Great music choices, beautiful view of the city surroundings, affordable prices, the ice is periodically cleared so it feels smooth, its a great place to enjoy family fun or to hang out with a group of friends. Food is available there or with in a reasonable walking distance. It was worth my time/and money. Yes i would recommend it to others. My experience was excellent!
Rink has nice length but is rather narrow. Forget about practicing in the middle of the ice as there is no such thing just in and out lanes of traffic when rink is full of people. You can practice footwork/skills somewhat at the far end of the rink though away from traffic. Nice location and backdrop. Food and beverage conveniences right at the rink if that's important to you. Music, important part of skating, they were playing was not very audible at times and only occasionally they played something that motivated skating.
The Saturday evening I was there, the rink surrounding area was not as clean/well kept. Also the price of $6 per adult is a little much. But overall I had fun and by the look of it everyone around me was having fun too.
like size if rink and how they smooth the ice out so often, really clean too.The last time I was there it was a party for the AG office my friends 3yr old son pulled me around the rink while he ran with shoes on we were spectacles, but It was a great time.peace everyone and happy new year.thanks Roc
I had a lot of fun skating at fleet. As a ice skater i like to visist here frequently. It's a great place to take kids! The rink is big enough so it wont' crowd very easily. They clean the ice almost every two hours, and the times of opening and closing are very convinent. My family and I have made a tradition out of the fleet center.
the service is great there(they have skates you can rent, or you can bring your own)there is vending machines there and there is a dunkin dounuts right near by.(for hot cocolate and coffe)
It is a really great place!!!
I love to ice skate and I thought it was wonderful. I took my friends there and we skated for hours. I would reccomend this to anyone even if you don't know how to ice skate it would be a great place to start.
