Bannister's Wharf, Newport

We visit Newport's Bannister's Wharf and surrounding area frequently. We love to bring our friends to stay, shop, and dine in Newport's best spots. However, this year, the noise from events at the Yachting Center has completely spoiled our last two visits. What is the purpose of the overly loud blasting music pulsating from the Yachting Center. While dining nearby, we couldn't even enjoy a normal conversation. Newport, what are you thinking? Please do something about your noise problems and give us back a Newport we can enjoy again.

Lots of restaurants and cute shops. Great place to walk on a lovely afternoon.

Worst night we've ever spent. We travel a good deal and have been to Newport often, but this stay at Bannister's Wharf was a clear mistake. We barely got any sleep. Our bedroom window faced a large encased piece of machinery that throughout the night cycled on and off VERY LOUDLY. It truly was impossible to sleep. The steps leading up to our second floor room were a menace.

Bannister's Wharf has a wonderful atmosphere in the warmer months. There are several great high-end restaurants to choose from. The small shops offer seasonal clothing and souvenirs. The view is breath-taking and the sunset cruise is worth the price.
