Taste of Rhode Island
More than 40 of Rhode Island's top restaurants and catering services will offer you a tasting of their best local recipes and finest cuisine, selling from USD1-USD6. You will find an assortment of culinary demonstrations on the grounds overlooking the Newport Harbor, children's rides, a marketplace with crafts and a community tent. This is a varied combination of waterfront festival events for young and old alike.
This is such a great event, not to mention affordable! Tickets were $10, and samples (think small appetizer/tasting) were $1-4. Besides alcohol, we only ended up spending $20 for two of us and were stuffed! It was delicious, too! Besides the samples, there were plenty of interesting things on stage, such as an oyster shucking contest, oyster/wine pairing, and music. I highly recommend it and will be going back again next year!
