Don't Miss this Historic Campus
This small campus is the site of numerous historic mansions and homes in Newport. Although the interiors are not open for viewing, it is well worth the time to drive through the campus and enjoy the exteriors. We toured the campus on a Saturday morning in early October and found that it was very easy to park near each of the homes - - and that the properties were nearly deserted at that time.

Carey Mansion (Seaview Terrace)
Famed as the location for the exterior shots of the TV show

Watts Sherman House
Prime example of the English Queen Anne “shingle-style” architecture built for the daughter of the Chateau-sur-Mer family
Wetmore Hall
Originally the carriage house and stables for Chateau-sur-Mer
Wakehurst
Replica of a 1570 English manor house
Ochre Court
First of the grand mansions designed by Richard Morris Hunt, the architect responsible for Marble House and The Breakers
Vinland (McAuley Hall)
A rambling red stone estate designed by the architects of Rough Point, this property was purchased by the sister of the Vanderbilt who built The Breakers next door
If you take the Cliff Walk, you will get a great view of Ochre Court and Vinland.
