This airy and popular three-story restaurant is as pleasant as it looks from its prominent location on Thames Street. Sip a salty, cold margarita at the bar; the varied menu will please everyone in your party with dishes ranging from Mexican fajitas to fettuccine Alfredo, fresh shrimp and boiled lobster and seafood. The energetic staff deals efficiently with large groups and business functions. Don't leave without getting a mudslide for dessert.
We were very wet from a severe storm, so they sat us in the back in the dark, so the menu was very hard to read. Service was excellent. The filet mignon and stuffed mushrooms were excellent. The place was loud, so it was difficult to talk.
We dine at the Red Parrot whenever we're in Newport--the food is to die for! As a matter of fact, we are heading to Newport this weekend, as my husband suggested we stay overnight and "eat at THAT restaurant." Try the seafood alfredo--absolutely delicious. Mmmmm--my mouth is watering!
