Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia

We weren't sure our grandchildren (2 1/2 and 4 1/2 yrs old) would be old enough to enjoy the exhibits. We had nothing to worry about! The oldest liked the dino exhibit and was especially impressed with the dinosaur that greets you as you enter the musuem. Both kids really liked the "outside in area" that allowed them to get close to living creatures and to touch different things like animal furs,shells, etc. They also enjoyed the butterfly house where the butterflies were coming within inches of you as they flew around. The other exhibits were impressive and I would definitely go back with or without the kids.

This is the best musuem I've ever been to in Philadelphia. The Franklin is too crowded with lots of exhibits and parts that don't work. The staff here is really family friendly and easy to get along with.
