The 'park' designation, in this case, refers to all the buildings that are maintained by the Park Service in the area. These buildings are spread over a twenty block section of the city. The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are the main attractions but the park has many other monuments and homes of famous Americans, such as Ben Franklin's home . The Visitors Center will assist you is planning your trip back in time. Also contact them to organize tours for large groups. There is a foreign language hot line and emergency translation service, 24 hours a day.
Short but very interesting trip through American history. See where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were signed as well as the first Congress. It's also near to the Liberty Bell. Great tour guide -- He knew his stuff, was very friendly and open to questions. (I was there on 2/13/2010.)
Since we reserved our tickets for Independence Hall, we toured the visitors center at the end of the day. Great gift shop, and lots of things to see. The kids did their Junior Ranger badge, so we got those here as well.

Besides, this is the place to get the free timed tickets for access to Independence Hall. The interior design is modern and extremely spacious. The visitors center gift store has lots of Philadelphia souvenirs, albeit they are a little bit too expensive.
