Without a doubt the nicest restaurant in Philadelphia. Amazing food served with a great view of the city. Eating areas are overwhelmingly welcoming and warm. Great place to bring a first date. Going back a.s.a.p.
I had a wonderful "Thai Martini" in this very intimate, sexy bar. The Martini was absolutey creative, refreshing, subtle and just sooo different from all the other trendy bars in the area. Thai Martini had: Hanger 1 Lime vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice, lime, and a hint of curry. Gorgeous. Genius. I also love the atmosphere in this place - gorgeous views, private romantic spaces. Perfect for a date. Perfect for meeting with a friend. The staff is so gracious, the bartenders are pure class and dignity. Nineteen is the best use of this glorious, historic space. I will be returning tothis bar/restaurant as long as its open.
But I always receive outstanding service at XIX. The food is a great quality and price. I will be sure to go back. The young girl with glasses is very professional. I will tell all of my friends about this place.
Amazingly created dishes, and really dedicated service. The best views in Philly. Make sure to catch the sunset!
The service was warm and friendly, not at all stuffy like you might expect in this atmosphere. They were also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and really helped us select the perfect meal.
Don't miss the amazing wine list either. Really interesting selections at a great price.
My future father in-law took myself and my fiance to the xix in celebration of our engagement. The food was incredible, the service just as good. Both the menu and wait staff were able to deliver us everything we could ever want and more, the whole time with a smile on their face. The whole experience was wonderful and we cannot wait to return!
It was my mother's B-day and we had brunch there with my sister and my fiance. Our waiter's name was Ryan and he was one of the most patient waiter's I had ever met. If you knew my mother, you would understand why. My mother gave him a hard time about not being seated in the dining room that she wanted to be seated in, so in return she expected special treatment- And that she received from the waiter! Although it was her birthday, I did not expect the waiter to go above and beyond his call of duty to accommodate her every need because she was giving him such a hard time, but he did.
Thank you, Ryan, for the tremendous service you provided to us on my mother's birthday.
The food was excellent and we couldn't have asked for a better waiter.
Great food and ambiance with friendly, cordial service.XIX Nineteen is beautifully designed however not stuffy. We were totally relaxed and savored our food. The steamed fish was one of the best I have ever eaten. Bravo!
I've been here a few times for lunch only. The atmosphere is wonderful, open with high ceilings, windows all the way around and a pretty view of Philadelphia. The food is absolutely excellent. The lobster club is WONDERFUL (and I'm from Maine, this is the best I've had outside of Maine!!). I had the smoked gouda ravioli which was cooked to perfection with a rich creamy sauce and a wonderful assortment of mushrooms. The crab salad is a favorite as well! The desserts are equally as wonderful. Surprisingly, the prices aren't outrageous, definitely worth a try!!
This will be my eighth or nineth year in a professional kithen, by far nineteen (xix) is superior. I went through fast pace family casual to working with chef Tel Erdht at the Top of the Buck and still havent seen what Marc Plessis as put together. He pulled together a team of line chefs that mastered the art of fresh daily prep. So not only are the ingredients seasonal but there as fresh as your going to get. We ,in the kitchen of nineteen, fresh cut everything from garlic, shallots, and peppercorns to baby fat carrots and cualiflour puree. Youre not going to get that anywhere else. So if any reviewers feel the need to write about xix to construcuively critizes us, then be sure to emphasize your service. We know we rock in the kitchen
