White Water Bay Water Park
Hot summer afternoons in Oklahoma are brutal. To cool off, drop by White Water Bay, the city's favorite watering hole. The park is popular with all age groups. Children have an area, called Kids Kove, and big kids can brave the more than 30 rides, including the Acapulco Cliff Dive, Bermuda Triangle and Cannonball Falls. For those not seeking a thrill, take a tranquil inner tube ride down the lazy river or just soak in the sun in a comfy beach chair. The park is open seasonally; check the website for opening details.
Wasn't exactly cost effective. Even the surprise charge for simply parking. Site itself is very good with plenty to do. Most of the Staff is uncaring at least and downright rude at best. Was way overcrowded but I was impressed with seeing 2 fights and the abudance of tatoos. Doubt we'll be back unless they can make it all more family friendly before it goes down the tube.
The lifeguard ruined my entire day!! I was having a wonderful day, until he had to open his mouth. Everytime I go, they're always rude and look like they're ticked off. I don't like my job as much as the next guy, but brush it off and put a smile on your face, you're getting paid to soak up the sun. Eventually you'll have to get a real job.
The park was not bad, but for the price you pay I expected a lot more. I have been to other White Water Bay Parks that were about 3 times the size of this one, for the same price. I just think for a park so small $30 is a little much. Also the other parks I visited had stuff for the whole family to enjoy, but the OKC park was definitely geared more toward children under 11 or 12 years old.
The lazy river was so dirty by 2pm that you could only see hazy outlines of your feet. For the money, many public pools with slides are just as good. Workers were not happy to be there, and had minimal control over customers. Chairs were dirty and broken. Very crowded!
Let me put it in a nutshell. High prices, poorly maintained equipment, no shade unless you pay for it or get VERY lucky, some of the water is stinky and yellowish, the attendants are careless and impatient (due to this, both my 8 year old son and I were put in dangerous situations on the slides), the bathrooms were sooooo nasty, the slides all need to be resurfaced... all in all I felt ripped off. If you charge me this much, you better at least have a well maintained and properly staffed facility!
I loved it! the rides are fun and the wave pool is pretty cool especially for all the oklahomans who have never been to the beach before. The employees are nice and as we expected the food and drink prices were high but what do you expect? a guy got hurt and had to be taken in an ambulance but we think is because he had a locker key around his ankle and when he went down the atomic wedgie ride he scraped himself and cut his leg open., but that wasn't the ride's fault. only two rides were shut down but about an hour later they were both back up again. we have the season passes and we are defently going back.
I've lived here my entire life and I am so disapointed to see the place run down. The guests are not as friendly and the rides are not maintained well at all. The water is dirty and the filters don't seem to be operated much. Some of the rides were closed for unexplained reasons. Lines too long and price too high for what it offers.
We went to the park on a Saturday. It was very crowded, which is to be expected. The "free" tubes were in very short supply. Spent alot of time waiting on tubes. Felt they did this on purpose to force people to rent tubes. By the time you pay for entrance fee, parking, locker rental, tube rental, etc. it is way too expensive for what you get. The cleanliness was marginal. The picnic area is marginal--barely enough run down tables and not a pleasing environment. We did not buy the park's food as it is too expensive. Don't plan to go back. Mostly a waste of money. Only positive was most of the staff was pleasant.
The irdes are nice, the staff is nice, however dont lose your wallet there! We have been waiting for over a week to have them send it to u and everytime I call them, no one knows anything about anything. So frustrating!
Nothing is more exciting than a day at the races, especially at this race track. While you watch the ponies
run, enjoy fine dining at Silks Restaurant, an upscale eatery inside the park. Just want to unwind? Try Twilight ...
