I Loved everything about this museum
By ,
This wonderfull Museum took me back to my childhood. I anticipate the day when I can return and repeat the experience with my family and Grand children. and spend more time there and other Museums in the great State of Oklahoma. I loved the details on each and every display. The parking was great for trucks ( I am a Truck Driver. I did have to leave my trailer at a truckstop lets get real guys ) What did I dislike about the place??? "I HAD TO LEAVE!"

Much more than to be expected
By ,
This place was great it was recommended by the gentleman at the dalton gang hideout in meade. The art exhibit was great and educational. Plus there is everything a cowboy could ever want to see. From John Wayne to Frost Lane. There is everything that has to do with horses and the art of. The saddle exhibit was equally great. The reconstructed mining/cow town was great. Definatly must see.

De rigeur
By ,
This museum was one of the best parts of my trip to OKC. The docents and staff were phenomenal in their friendly attitude, knowledge of the collection and made for an exceptional experience. The collection of gloves alone are worth the price of admission but there's enough to see in the museum that two days are really needed to take in the works in their entirely. Then, when you're finished with the museum, head West down the street to county line BBQ for lunch or dinner. This will round up your visit with some authentic OKC BBQ where you can reflect and discuss the museum over a delicious meal.

A Window to the Past
By ,
My wife and grandson accompanied me on a trip to Oklahoma City three weeks ago. The National Cowboy and Heritage Museum was outstanding. The museum presented the West in a dynamic, but yet sutle manner. The impact of seeing James Earle Fraser's "End of the Trail" was overwhelming to say the least. My wife was spell bound with Lincoln and the Canyon Princess. My grandson (15) really absorbed the paintings and cowboy tack. He was impressed to see Remington and Russell paintings in the museum. He also really enjoyed the Barbed Wire collection. To understand the West, the museum is a must for any family. It certainly a first class act of outstanding displays on the West. The Kollenborns .....AZ

My husband and I stopped by here on our way out of OKC. He didn't really want to go but once we got there I could hardly drag him out! We had a great time and are going to go back this summer and take our kids. They have a great kids section and also have a resturaunt. We had a great time here.
