Honest & True
There are possible reasons someone would give Cedar Point less than 4 stars ...
1) They had an extremely bad experience that couldn’t be prevented (nothing is perfect) 2) They are uptight, spoiled, or just not a pleasant person to begin with.
3) They are from another park and trying to lower the ratings.
This park is amazing, PERIOD. I’ve been to all sizes of amusement parks, including Kennywood, Darien Lake, Kings Dominion, Hershey Park, Waldameer, Dutch Wonderland, Lakemont, Delgrossos, Conneaut Lake, and others. Keep in mind, those are amusement parks, cedar point is a theme park. I understand the difference, and im not trying to compare those to this, im just putting out there that ive been around and have experience. That being said, even if I wanted to it wouldn’t work, because there is no comparison. Cedar point is hands down the best park we have ever been to.
Rides: ***** - The selection of rides is amazing. From kids to grandparents, from cowards to daredevils, everyone will find multiple rides they enjoy.
Staff: **** - I cant give 5 stars here, not because of anything we saw or experienced, but because someone is bound to be having a bad day, and no matter how friendly they are you still pick up on it.
Food: **** - This does NOT include the name brand places inside the park, e.g. subway. In a park of this scale, and prices no cheaper, so why on earth would you eat at a subway? Anyway, we didn’t eat everywhere, but the places we did eat were all excellent, except one, and that’s the reason I gave 4 stars. Coasters Drive-In was dirty, the food was good, but the tables floors bathrooms and seats were dirty. Some of the benches were even broken.
Shows: **** - I’ve seen some sad attempts in parks before, and we weren’t expecting much here. However, after taking the kids to see a show to get out of the heat we found ourselves planning our next 2 days around show times for other shows. The ones we saw were actually entertaining, and quite good. Instead of going on and on about how good ill list what wasn’t good for the shows we saw.
HAPPINESS IS SNOOPY - A little long, BUT, don’t shorten it, add a little crowd interaction towards the end. High fives and hugs are amazing things for kids, even more so when they come from performers. WHEELS EXTREME - It wasn’t long enough, and the tricks weren’t big enough. I’m not talking 900s all day long, im saying that with a park of this size, the majority of people haven’t seen this stuff live. So simple backflips go a long way. I believe there were backflips in the 2 shows we saw, and most of the crowd gasped and erupted after each one. There you go, more backflips. SING ALONG & FUNTIME FROLICS & PEANUTS CELEBRATION - No complaints, our kids were just too old. These are for younger children (under 5). LUMINOSITY - This was the surprise of our visit, we have kids 6&8, and we stayed until the very end, each night, all the way through the dance party. We stayed 3 of the 5 nights we were there. The ONLY issue is that it’s the same show each time. That’s not a complaint, but there has to be some way to change it up. Of course not every night, but what about show A on Sun Tue Thu, show B on Sat Mon Wed, and show C (a mix of A/B) on fridays ... just a thought.
Park: ***** - There’s really nothing to complain about. Things are bound to happen, but they are usually out of everyone’s control. Yes even cedar points, so with a park of this scale, odds are that something is bound to go wrong for someone. This is where you get the low reviewers, they are the same people who give 1 star to an amazing product that arrives broken, shouldn’t the shipping company receive the 1 star.
