Cedar Point Amusement Park

Description

Located about 80 minutes west of Cleveland, Cedar Point is Ohio's top tourist attraction and considered the Mecca of roller-coaster aficionados. The park features a world-record 15 coasters among its dozens of rides. Highlights include the Magnum, Mean Streak and Raptor. For those wanting to cool off, they may do so at the adjacent Soak City, which features water slides and a wave pool. Both parks have ample places to get food, drinks and souvenirs.

CEDAR POINT IS THE BEST
By jimmy the geek, 5/9/12
I loved Cedar Point .... my kids loved it better than disney, universal or busch gardens! You folks up there in North Ohio don't know how great you got it. A single day ticket at disney or universal will set you back $85 now ... and 'the Point' is a steal at $39 bucks! It has many more quality rides and much, much more coasters than all the theme parks down here combined!!! You have a much better selection of foods than the parks in florida too ... at a similar price! The setting at Cedar Point is breathtaking as compared to here as well. Put Cedar Point down here and you'd have a gold mine year round ... but it was nice to visit friends up there that kept raving about the 'RollerCoast' and now I see why!!! We will be back ... the kids have been talking about nothing but going to Cedar Point again this summer and if we can save enough for the high price of gas ... we will be back to enjoy your gem on Lake Erie!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!

Alright

I love Cedar Point and we go there alot because I live in Sandusky! Heres my trip to Cedar Point! It was my brothers birthday so we went to Cedar Point and we invited both of our friends. They both came. It was Halloweekends there. We rode 2 rides and 2 roller coasters. We waited an hour and a half to ride Raptor at night. I wanted to go into Happy Jacks Toy Factory but the line would of been a 3 hour wait! So we went through a knight haunted walk way! It was really smoking and it was not scaring at all. I wish next time it would not be so busy!

My trip to Cedar Pointe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/11
The employees were friendly. The lines were fast moving. The beach area was beautiful. Johnny Rockets service was not the greatest, waiting for a to go shake for about 7 minutes, then I had to go up to the counter to ask about it, and was told it would be a minute then the server came back and handed it to me without an appology or thanks. There were too many employees/managers at that resturaunt doing nothing but standing around ( I see cost cutting being a sugestion) Chick fil A was great, but $11.00 for a standard meal. Very expensive for everything in gerneral. I would recomend this, it was fun, but be ready to drop over $200 easy.

Totally fell in LOVE with this Amusument Park and we will definately return ...The park was SO clean, the workers were SO friendly, the views from the tops of the rides of the beaches and the water were beautiful and the rides were AWESOME!! The only thing we will change about our next visit is NOT staying in Sandusky, we will stay in one of the other nicer areas ...Sandusky is a run down dirty filfy disgusting town, I was absolutely disgusted!

The greatest amusement park on earth!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/11
We've been going since we were kids. Our middle daughter can now drive there with her friends! It's definitely worth buying a season pass if you're going to go more than once a season. Sure, the lines may be long, but that's if you go on a weekend when everyone else goes! Wednesday is the best day to go- not only is it not crowded (we actually got off top thrill dragster & ran back in line & waited no more than 10 minutes!), but they usually have discount coupons online for wednesdays! The food is pricey, so we usually grab some mc d's on our way in, pack some munchies, & leave our cooler in the picnic area- we've NEVER had a problem leaving our picnic stuff unattended. I highly reccomend bringing in your own bottles of water. It's three dollars a pop in line- CRAZY! I LOVE the rollercoasters! When I lived in Denver for a short time, I went to their amusement park. I'm sure it was fine, but being from Cleveland, I could hardly contain my disappointment. Cedar Point is THE roller coaster capital of the world! I miss Geauga Lake though =(

Best amusement park in the country
By Hurley, 4/7/11
The roller coasters are obviously the main attraction here, and they are intense, fun, and exciting. Depending on when you go you could end up only waiting an average of 30 min per ride. On our visit, we didn't wait more than 15 min for the newest rides there, Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster. Yeah, the food is expensive, but I'm not sure what else you're expecting if you're going to an amusement park. Apart from the rides, which are absolutely excellent, there are also a number of shows and other attractions that you can enjoy. Of course, that all depends on what you go to the park for. If you're a coaster junkie, I would recommend hitting those other attractions only if you're there for more than one day, since you may not get to ride all the coasters if you have one day to do everything, simply because there are so many rides. As long as you plan ahead (weather, crowds, etc) you should be fine. Don't go on an exceptionally hot day, since many of the lines are out in the sun, and the hot summer months tend to be the most crowded anyway. I recommend going in the spring or fall, and/or on a weekend immediately before or after a holiday/special event to avoid long lines (at least, this seems to work for me). Overall, Cedar Point is by far the best amusement park I have been to. Expect to have the time of your life, regardless of your age or preferred level of ride intensity.
