Over the Falls Tours, Niagara Falls

Over The Falls Tours saved my trip. I booked my tour through an online company and unknowingly the bus company had gone bankrupt. I spent the morning on the phone searching for the right number to call so that my daughter and I could get picked up for a tour that I paid for months ago in advance. I finally got the number and after getting transferred several times we had our bus number and tour guide. Marcello was excellent. He spoke loudly and clearly so that all could hear him. This was a graduation present for my daughter and both of us had a great time. We saw the falls from every angle. (Would have liked to have the AERO car included). The best part was after a 8 1/2 hour drive the day before I didn't have to drive from place to place and pay additional costs for parking. Some places were anywhere from $7.00 up to $15.00 just to park. Towards the end of the day we went to the American side of the falls. My daughter and I had paid for Cave of the Winds but the line was very long. Marcello gave us the choice to go or stay with the group and go to Goat Island. We of course stayed with the group (they didn't purchase the Cave of the Winds). We had been down White Water Walk on the Canadian side and we figured we were having a good time with the group. Lunch was excellent, tour excellent....we got just a little over an hour for lunch which gave us time to check out the local gift shops or the gardens accross from the hotel. We checked out the beautiful gardens and went back the next day to the souvinere shops on our own. Thank you Marcello for an excellent day, despite what others wrote on thier reviews "Over the Falls Tours" saved my day. Thank you for sqeezing us in and giving us a great tour. I over paid for my tour by going through another company I could have saved a couple hundred by going directly through the tour company. The bus was air conditioned, Marcello was very friendly (Reminded me of my father-in law which is good) and joked with everyone the value for memories and a great day "priceless".

The place is wonderfull, but the tour company is the worst. On top of everything it is very expensive and unreliable. We had to wait 1 hour until they got everybody on the bus and then another 2 hours to get to see the "Cave of the winds" when we were told that there will be a maximum of 45 min, wait. When we were informed about the wait we were already on the bus. So we had to go back to the agent by foot, and tell him to give us a refund. Not only was he rood to us he also started lafing in our face. We don't recomend this tour company to anybody!

I was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews on here, but I called and they were so nice and the least expensive company I spoke to, so I decided to take my chances. I am glad I did! Our tour guide, Robert, was awesome. He knew so much information about Niagara Falls and the area. We did not get lost once. My husband really appreciated it because he usually does the driving and he didn't have to try to find all of the spots on his own, fight for parking, pay for parking... everything was taken care of. Robert, the tour guide, even suggested great dining locations for after the tour. My Aunt & Uncle will be going to Niagara Falls this July and I have already booked them for the Over the Falls Tour!!

We happen to take the ALL AMERICAN ILLUMINATION TOUR scheduled to begin at 5:45 pm and end at 10 pm. The representative at the desk told us ALL the points in the tour will be covered in 4 hours without any problems despite the rush. Hence, I bought 4 adult tickets as we had 2 senior citizens. The tour started at ~ 6:15 pm.The bus driver told us that they will begin the tour with maid of the mist as the last trip there stops at 8:00 pm. Being summer the falls are actually NOT illuminated until after 9:00 pm so no illumination as the tour advertises. Later, there was huge crowd at maid of the mist and we ended up taking the last boat tour (still no illumination as advertised in the tour package). The tour guide/ bus driver asked us to return to bus by 8:30 pm when we finish our boat tour. However, only a few of the passengers (including us) came on time, while others returned at ~ 8:50 pm. Few of the passengers LEFT the tour since they were annoyed / bored of waiting. Then after everyone returned bus driver announced few of the attractions will not be covered as they are already closed and took us to daredevil museum. Please do not go by the name, this happens to be a souvenir shop and not a museum and wasted about 15 minutes there. Then she took us to Goat island and told us that is ALSO closed and so are the rest of parks or attractions and took us back to where the trip had begun. So at the end, we ended up taking ONLY the maid of the mist boat tour and paid 4 times the money that we had paid to the tourist company ( We paid 4* $50= $200 for 4 adults while the maid of the mist tour costs only 4*$13.50=$54). The company refused to refund the money for the part of the tour that was not completed. Please stay away from these people.

Tour guide knew the area pretty well. We felt we were deceived by the person selling the tour to us and who also told us that the discovery pass was junk which was the pass we were going to buy. They give you a map that in itself is deceiving. The man selling us the tour made it sound like we would stop at all the places on the map which was not the case. To her credit the tour guide said that was not the case but at that point we were already on the bus. While the tour guide was helpful I think we could have done pretty well on our own without her. I would not recommend this company to anyone even though I felt the tour guide was fine. We also visited the daredevil museum/snack store which I am sure has a connection of some kind with this tour company as does the parking lot where we parked. I learned a lot on my trip to Niagara falls but despite the bad experience with this company I thought the falls were beautiful. So save your money and have a nice dinner somewhere. Buy the discovery pass which I believes gives you a shuttle ride to the falls but check that out for sure.

I purchased the tour over the internet. First of all, I received a discount by booking right on the internet (did not pay what the other people on here did). We were staying at the Super 8 in Niagara Falls, our tour guide Dayna picked us up right on time. We did have a few other pick ups to do, but that was okay, it got us familiar with the area. The tour was awesome! We did the Maid of the Mist Boat, the Cave of the Winds and the Tower - and so many other sights that I can't even name them! I would have never been able to do all of that on my own, I would have never found everything!! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Niagara Falls.

I traveled with my parents on to Niagara Falls (I am 19), and boy did we get more than what we bargained for with this tour, and I mean that in the worst possible way I can. We booked the tour about an hour outside of Niagara through an outside agency I will not name to protect the innocent (It was not their fault). We did not do our research prior to arriving. Big mistake. Now onto the trip. Sit back and enjoy the show because this gets good if you are into comedy of incompetence. Looking back it’s easy to laugh now, but it was awful at the time. We were staying in Canada and walked across to the American side to get picked up for the tour, which was scheduled for 10:30. We were picked up around that time, expecting the tour to start right away. We spent about another hour or so waiting on and picking up passengers. The tour was said to be four to six hours in duration. Fat chance. Anyway, our tour guides were Marcello and Nancy, on her first tour as a guide. Marcello was disgustingly rude. When a group of tourists attempted to bring some food on the bus to eat later on the tour, he yelled at them that this was not permitted. The website mentions you are allowed snacks. We arrived at Maid of the Mist for our tour and waited in line with the rest of the crowd. There was no advantage of being with a tour. About half way through the line, Marcello gets into an argument with a group of men waiting in line. They began to push and shove each other. The men were angry because Marcello was rudely directing people, telling them where to go. Security came to the scene to settle it down, but it was a step away from a full out fist fight. Things calmed down and we went on Maid of the Mist, which was nice, but it cost $13.50 on its own and we received nothing more than seeing our tour guide get into a fight. There was no advantage to being with the tour, but we would have just felt ripped off rather than downright angry after the tour if that had been all. We went a long way to the Cave of Winds, having a couple of decrepit churches and houses pointed out along the way. When we got to the Cave of Winds, there was about a 2 hour line. We were frustrated, but it was understandable being Memorial Day Weekend. We stood in line for about an hour when Marcello directed us all to a new line. Eureka! He had found a way to the front of the line for a tour we thought. Wrong. We had lined up in the wrong place, forgetting to get ponchos and special shoes before entering. We got back in line, to the end of it. The reason you book a tour is so you can receive guidance so you do not make errors like these. How do the tour guides not know where you are supposed to wait? It is unacceptable, even if the tour guides were friendly. My family was perturbed. Thankfully my mom is not afraid to speak her mind and she confronted the tour guides about 15 minutes after we went back to the line. She called the tour company. Many others in the group were upset as well, and Marcello was ruder than ever. Nancy was at least somewhat respectful, but she had no expertise. We were told we would not get a refund if we left the tour. Absolutely not. We would have taken this company to court to get our money back. Not so much for the wasted $225, but on principle. Fortunately we paid on credit card through another agency, and they were sympathetic and allowed us to dispute the charge. The Over the Falls Company itself were disgracefully mannered and it is my civic duty as a human being to not allow another person to experience what we did. If this company makes another dollar, it is not acceptable. This company is horrific. HORRIFIC Save your money. Enjoy the sites yourself. It will be much less frustrating and there really is no need to spend extra money for a tour. Plus you will not be treated like dirt. Enjoy your trip to Niagara Falls, a lovely site ruined by this sham of a company. STAY AWAY!

Seems like I should have taken more time reading reviews of this tour company than I did... I am afraid, like many others that have left a review, that we had very similar experiences, over an hour late pick up, rushing through the planned stops, driving by some all together, and being so behind schedule, that some sights were not able to be seen because of the fog... this was a waste of a WHOLE day. We could have easily seen those same sights for a lot less money and time on our own, as they are very close,,,, tour over an hour late and ended almost an hour early,,,, go figure that one out,,,,, would not recommend this tour to anyone.....Guide was very nice but not familiar with this tour, more familiar with the US tour and apologized the whole trip,,, he was a replacement for the original guide who was having a confrontation with a tour group,,,,, sound familiar.....if I could give this a negative rating I would,,,,

Our guide, Marcello, led us through a wonderful experience, visiting attractions we would have missed had we not gone on the tour. We learned much more about Niagara history than we thought we would, and we gained helpful insight regarding Maid of the Mist and Cave of Winds, contributing to a much safer (and drier) experience. When you figure in the cost of parking or the time of walking to the different attractions, along with the depth of knowledge and background gained, Over The Falls Tour is a fantastic bargain, and we recommend it without hesitation to newcomers to the area.

Our guide was Chris and he was great, the Bus/van was nice too. The first half of the tour was completely satisfying, but towards the end things started to really wind down. It was nice to see everything we wanted without having to drive, but next time we will just buy the discovery pass and see everything on our own for less than half the cost, if it is your first time, like ours was, it was very nice.
