Aquarium of Niagara
Known as Niagara's "Other Water Wonder", this aquarium presents an ongoing display of fish and aquatic life from the Great Lakes to the Coral Reef. There are almost 2,000 species ranging from sharks and California sea lions to Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Originally known as the "First Inland Oceanarium" when it opened 30 years ago, the aquarium has grown to over 50 exhibits. Visitors stop to watch the marine demonstrations at 90-minute intervals.
The aquarium was not worth the time.. the money ... and the walk.. if u dont want to get on the trolly.. There are hardly few species of sea life there.. The seal is the only one that makes it a OK place. As the seal's pool is kept open IT STINKS in the aquarium...! May be if Niagara is too crowded and u r bored watching the falls u can walk up there..!
The Aquarium is an excellent facility and I would recomend it to anyone. They offer a wide variety of presentations including one where you can feed the seals in their outdoor pool for $5, we did it and the kids loved it! The sea lion show was extremely entertaining and educational. They have about 16 penguins right when you walk in. They also have fish from all over the world and a shark tank which was pretty cool. The staff seemed very friendly and all seemed to enjoy their job. I would recomend it to any family visiting or living Niagara Falls or surrounding areas. A+!!
If there is a large crowd of children ahead of you in line, WAIT- go later. There is a lot of interesting things to read about the sea life, but we were there when a large grop of kids were, which made it noisy. (It had begun to rain outside.) Small seal show was entertaining, but almost missed it as they began the show before time announced.
Worth a visit.
