Named after the 'New York Times', which moved here in 1924, Times Square is a vibrant, neon-lit area in the heart of the Theater District. Over the years, this area has transformed with increasing number of hotels, office towers, and commercial businesses that have sprung up here. Conde Nast, megastores, and theme restaurants have also set up shop. Times Square remains the city's favorite venue for New Year's Eve, where a huge street party is highlighted by a glitter ball dropped from Times Tower. The Times Square Alliance, which was founded in 1992, works for the betterment and promotion of this most popular New York City attraction.
Times Square is an fun place for all ages and you get to see and do so many things. The best part is in the night when all the lights are lit and it is truly spectacular. The best time to visit is all the year round. There is no place like Times Square. Especially if you are visiting Times Square for the first place you will be amazed and will be in awe to see all the advertisements and hoardings which are lit up and you can see people of all ethinicity. There are some excellent restaurants and if you have children do not miss the Toys R Us Store. It has a giant wheel in the store, I mean inside the store where the kids and adults will enjoy. Visit the Hershey's chocolate store where you get some excellent chocolates and other memorabilia. Other interesting things to see are ABC, Nasdaq, MTV. For older folks visit Hardrock Cafe. Walking distance to so many broadway shows are some of the things to think about if you have the time.
I love Times Square its like a wonder of the world to me you know I have a funny story that happened in Times Square but thats gonna have to wait because this is a review not a story time in preschool. Thank you for listening to my very, super weird review about Times Square.
the supreme court, sadly, is yet to rule that death by tourists is in opposition to the eighth amendments cruel and unusual punishment clause. i'll take any other location please. actually, if I had only gone to times square i wouldn't even feel like i've been to nyc since it's so generic.
I'm going to New York in a couple of days. Everyone keeps telling me i'm going to have a nice time and to take lots of money to shop with but after readings the reviews i'm kind of scared. But I know I have to see for myself what it's like and i'm very excited and ready to go.
Great on any night! People from all walks and all countries throng the sections, sideroads, opera, musicals and the shops-big and small! To someone special, this is the greatest place on earth to be, especially on New Year Eve!
