Named after the 'New York Times', which moved here in 1924, Times Square is a vibrant, neon-lit area in the heart of the Theater District. Over the years, this area has transformed with increasing number of hotels, office towers, and commercial businesses that have sprung up here. Conde Nast, megastores, and theme restaurants have also set up shop. Times Square remains the city's favorite venue for New Year's Eve, where a huge street party is highlighted by a glitter ball dropped from Times Tower. The Times Square Alliance, which was founded in 1992, works for the betterment and promotion of this most popular New York City attraction.
I visited there with my family. It is a major commercial intersection in New York.We enjoy at One Astor Plaza. Times Square is a busy intersection of art and commerce. The Wax Museum is the fantastic place to visit. Lights and advertising at the southern end of Times Square create an amazing scene. This is the fantastic place you can enjoy a lot here.
Times Square is amazing. The city NEVER (and i do mean NEVER) sleeps. There is so much to do in this small area. You will never be bored, and if you are, all you have to go is walk into one of the amazing attractions in this area.
I would definitely recommend the King Tut exhibit at the Discovery Times Square Exposition. This place is right between 7th and 8th avenue on 44th street, and it is breathtaking. After doing so many silly things like the wax museum, it was nice to be surrounded by 3000+ year old ancient artifacts from egypt. It was SO cool, and I even got to see a 3d movie about mummies. I played around in the gift shop for like an hour, and bought myself a golden pharaoh's headpiece.... which i then paraded around Times Square in. It's a great time, make sure to see it if you're in the area!!
Both my friend and I met up in New York. From 9am - 12 Midnight we
covered everything. Kuddos to New York City, Everyone was so
helpful, and polite. My favorite place was Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
Tour. My friend enjoyed it all!!! Best Trip ever. We went for Memorial Day Holiday. Rockerfeller Center was the best with all the American flags
One last tidbit was the Magnolia Bakery. Awesome Goodies
Times Square is my top favorite place to go to - better than Disney Land!!And now, they are going to open in the fall a disney and forever 21 right intimes square!! They have a hershey store, an M&M'S, a planet hollywood restrant, they have evry thing!!
I loved it. I can't put in to words the excitement and energy I felt walking around Times Square. Don't make plans, just go there and walk around. You will find things to do and things to do will find you. A guy on the sidewalk was selling tickets to see Comedian Paul Mooney so I did that. I also went to the Hard Rock Cafe as well as Planet Hollywood. There is shopping there also. Just go with that destination as your only plan.
