Roosevelt Island Aerial Tram, Roosevelt Island

I was disappointed when my plans to visit Top of Rock/Empire Bldg was spoiled by fog. So we took this Aerial Tram instead. A much cheaper option. $4 for a round trip. It is also covered, if u take a day pass on the subway. The city skyline was beautiful at night. NOTE: Check out which subway stations are open till what time, to get to and from the tram's start point. We had to walk a while to a subway station on our way back, as the one we alighted from was closed by then.

The tram rises quickly to 22 floors (or higher) as it lifts over the East Side, glides over the East River. Your Metro ticket is valid, you can even transfer to the tram. Once on the island, the space, calm and greenery allow you to feel a long way from Manhattan. It is a blissful way to unwind if you feel the city is too hectic.

This was such a fun way to spend the night. The tram ride is interesting and the river is beautiful at night. The best at night because you cna see the lights, and it provides a great view of the city. TONS of fun for $4.
