Gray Line New York Sightseeing, New York

We told incorrectly by street sales and picked a higher package. We lost $20.00. Do yourself a favor and choose CitySightsNY, its competitor. Gray Line wont even give a refund.

We purchased tickets for the 48 hour hop on, hop off bus and the Holiday Lights tour with Grayline New York. the Holiday Lights tour was advertised as 2+ hours, but our tour only lasted 1 hour. When I asked the guide if there was more, he said this was all there was. So the next day I went over to the ticket office to speak to a manager. He was very rude to me and told me that no one else had complained so he couldn't verify my story-in other words, I was lying. Either that or he has no idea what his tour guides are actually doing on their tours-or perhaps he does and they mean to cheat their customers. He argued with me and refused to give me any help. There were three of us so that's 120.00 wasted. The 48 hour tour was ok, the guides spent alot of time asking for tips, even standing in the doorway as people got off and making fun of people who didn't tip. One woman guide's accent was so strong we had a hard time understanding her, but I did catch several inaccuracies in things she said. Do they train these people? It was interesting to learn about the buildings and nice to ride on the top deck. I'll never use Gray Line again, though. Do yourself a favor and try another company.

We were sold a ticket at 10 am and the seller told us the trip would be 2 hours. So to be back at Time Square by 1:00 sounded doable. However we waited 45 for a bus, after 2 blocks were told the sound system was broke so we waited another hour for a new bus to pick us up, then that bus after an hour into the tour was taken out of service, by this time it is 12:30. We had tickets for a show at 1:30. So we did not get a full tour and wasted our money. So that's $132. they got out of us. Will not take a gray line tour ever no matter where it is.

They sold us tickets for the night sight seeing tour and said we can get on to the bus at the nearest passenger loading location. We waited so long to get a bus and then they wanted 5 of us to sit at 5 different places including the toddler!. We didn't want to do that and then we wanted to return the tickets. They got the original copies of the receipts and the complaint from us, but so far no refunds at all. When we call the customer service says 10 different things we call each time. It was $270. So, it was really bad service and very poor customer service. Nobody should take their tours as they only care about you until they sell the tickets.

On our first trip to New York City, we decided to get a 48 hour pass for Gray Line. All the tours were amazing. We're so glad that we got it, it's well worth the price. The tour guides were very funny, knowledgable and chill. The Night Tour I HIGHLY RECOMMEND because you get to see Times Square and a lot of cool places at night on top of a double decker bus, and the view is nothing I've ever seen before! They even take you across a bridge down to Brooklyn to take pictures of the Manhattan Skyline. Yes, you get to ride on top of a double decker bus over a bridge, which was a little nerve-racking but a great experience overall. Wouldn't mind doing it again! The only thing I didn't like was that our ticket was sold by a creepy guy on the side of the street, but oh well one small downside. It's still well worth it, you'll have a great time!

We purchased the 48 hr All Tours pass. First let me start by saying the Night Tour is a combination of the Downtown and Brooklyn tours. The best tours are the Downtown and Uptown tours. For these 2 tours its $88 (for adults). If you get the All Tours Pass it only $54 per adult. After the Uptown and Downtown Tours we used the bus to hop on and off at various stops (Greenvich Village, Canal Street, Restaurant Row, Times Square, etc.) The tour buses ran every 30 min (due to traffic). Each tour last a minimum of 2 hrs and is worth it if you do not know the city. Once we learned where all the attractions were in town we used the bus to reach them. I do recommend using this company because they have ALOT of discounts to local attractions and the tour guides were very knowledgeable about New York.

This tour was a total rip off. They state that you can hop on or off anytime! Yes! but only at there stops and not without a tip (that's all they ever seem to talk about). They don't have much knowledge of New York. It was also a waste of time, if you have time and money you don't need, then do the tour other than that, save yourself a headache and money. Use another form of transportation, the subway worked great and was more than half the cost.

My family and I purchased the New York Sightseeing tour in March. We were very unhappy with the tour and service provided. Unfortunately they had a lot of rain when we visited but the tour company was illprepaired. The inside of the bus was as wet as outside and when we asked for plastic smocks (which were available) the tour guide stated that we didn't need them. The guide guide also had a strong foreign accent so the tour information was difficult to understand. After we disembarked at our first stop, when we went to reboard the bus but waited 45 munites in the rain. After seeing two busses taking alternate routes, we rang the Company to find out where the bus was only, to be told that the route had changed due to road works, negclecting to notify passengers (as we were not the only group waiting at the stop). We had a 24 hr pass, but turned in our tickets after about six hours. we filled out a complaint form and were told we would be contacted within a week. That was four weeks ago. In the meantime we have called the Company and emailed them to seek resolution of this issue. We are dissapointed that we have had no response from Gray Line tours and feel that once they had our money, their interest in providing a service ceased. I would not reccomend this New York tour to other tourists.

We booked and prepaid two tours via phone yet Grayline would not send us any confirmation, tickets, maps or info. We were told to pick them up at the hotel desk. When we checked in, all they gave us was a receipt -- we had to go to their main office 30 mins away and wait in line to get our tickets. The people at their main office were rude and disorganized. It was a rainy day and their tours should have been cancelled because we could not see anything. The windows on the lower level have screens and were dirty and foggy. The upper level was covered but leaking all over. The glass top was dirty and foggy and we could not see anything. Had they cleaned the windows/glass and used something like Rain-X and a defogger, it might have been better. The guides at the bus stops and the tour guide on board the bus were not very helpful or knowledgeable. Our tour guide had a thick accent and broken English and was dificult to understand. I would NEVER USE GRAYLINE again!

The whole idea is great, hopping off and on the bus worked and with the guides you get a lot of information you would not get if you would experience NY by yourself. Taking it only for 1 day is stupid tho, for 10 dollars more you get an additional day (total of 54) and you can use 3 more tours. The only thing that really needs to be critizised is the quality of the guides. Some where just really good guides with a lot of energy, some where not motivated at all but mentioned tips all the times and some were great guys but bad guides. So if you want to make the full round, carefully choose your guide first. Apart from that I would recommend taking that tour, we really enjoyed it, as we did not have to take care about a lot of organization which made the whole sightseeing much more relaxing.
