Right in the heart of Manhattan stands this oasis of rolling pastures and gardens, stretching from Midtown to Harlem. It was created in 1857 by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux. These days walkers, rollerbladers, bikers, and joggers compete for space. Lovers meet at the Bethesda Fountain on Bethesda Terrace. To the north, others wander at the mystery of Belvedere Castle. Nearby is the Delacorte Theater, where visitors can watch plays in the summer. It blends so easily with the Manhattan environment that it is difficult to guess that it is totally man made. Across the park lies a charming Central Park Wildlife Conservation Center, and children of all ages love the restored carousel.
i liked the atmosphere and just the fresh air. its a wonderful place for weddings or parties or jus a day out with ur friendz or family.cant wait to see u there!!!!!!!!!!
u shuld realli go visit CENTRAL PARK sumtime 4real
Central Park is probably one of the most gorgeous -yet simple- outdoor places. Children love it, adults love it, teens love it, seniors love it, animals love it! The experience was probably one of the best in my love! Kids can play on the Alice in Wonderland statue, adults can read, write, draw, and type on their lap-tops while sitting on a bench by the pond, teens can get ice cream at a kiosk and roller blade down the path, seniors can take slow strolls through the shade, and animals can romp about in the fields. What's not to like about that? I would recommend a visit to Central Park to anyone, everyone, and everything - plus it's free! Enjoy!
the famous central park really is a little paradise amid the city. my advise is to spend the day there; relax, take your time, and visit all the sights the park has to offer. be careful that u don't get lost though. no visit to nyc would be complete without a walk through central park!!!
I love Central Park. You could spend hours here. So much to see and do, but make sure you wear sneakers! Things you must see: Belvedere Castle, Bethesda Terrace and Fountain, Starwberry Fields and the Imagine Mosaic. Take a ride on the Carousel. Visit the Zoo and don't forget to watch the Delacorte Clock (entrance to the zoo) every half hour it plays a nursery rhyme song and the statues move in a circle.
What an absolutely beautiful park this is. We live in San Francisco and are very proud of our Golden Gate Park but Central Park is an absolute gem. We were lucky to have been there on a gorgeous October afternoon. The park has a definite 19th Century feeling about it. We were also amazed at how clean it was. I don't think we saw one piece of trash on the ground the whole time we were there. This park is not to be missed but make sure you allow enough time to see it all because there is much to see and a lot of ground to cover. Try a pedicab tour if you're not up to doing a lot of walking.
A little crowded at times, but what isn't in NYC? Plenty of grass to lay on, places to walk... you can get away from people if you like too. I went during the Marathon, so of course, it was busier than usual. I absolutely loved it!
