Central Park
Description
Right in the heart of Manhattan stands this oasis of rolling pastures and gardens, stretching from Midtown to Harlem. It was created in 1857 by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux. These days walkers, rollerbladers, bikers, and joggers compete for space. Lovers meet at the Bethesda Fountain on Bethesda Terrace. To the north, others wander at the mystery of Belvedere Castle. Nearby is the Delacorte Theater, where visitors can watch plays in the summer. It blends so easily with the Manhattan environment that it is difficult to guess that it is totally man made. Across the park lies a charming Central Park Wildlife Conservation Center, and children of all ages love the restored carousel.
well i have to say it's a heck of a place . if you have a daughter that is 8 year and over ,stop by American girl place and give her a American girl doll for a gift.
The park is totally nice, big, so much to see! You can have parties there, go canoeing, have a horseride, rent a bike, sleep there, read a book there, go with your friends there, etc.
I love NYC and I love going to Central Park. I don't live there anymore, but I spent many days just walking around and enjoying the GREEN grass in Central Park. It smells good, it is a pleasant and relaxing place to just enjoy nature in the middle of the city where people bump into each other every 5 seconds. Need a break from the traffic go take a walk and smell the roses.
I loved coming for a visit. The grass was so green and beautiful! My friend and I had decided to have a picnic perfect place!!! So many great things they had to do around there. It is a New York must see!!!!! I am so going back.
Love that place a lot. The park is really cool. I really like the merry-go-round a lot. The park is just simply awesome........... roam there for hours.......... still wanted to stay more even if couldn't walk any more as my legs were paining. There we also watched street dance show. It was really cool. Everyone who goes to NYC, should go there at least once.
It was my first time in New York....and I was truly amazed by the entire city. I really was in awe. I have to say though Central Park was my absolute favorite part of the city! I was there in September of 08. It was a gorgeous day, not a cloud in the sky. I loved all the bands that were playing, there were skaters, and even a wedding...beautiful!! I loved just sitting there on the bench watching people. We spent the entire day there and still could have seen so much more...The mall was breathtaking. It is definitely a must see when you go. My new most favorite spot in the world!
