SuperShuttle is driver is Dangerous!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/24/11
While my wife and I attempted to return home from a New York City visit with our 15 year old granddaughter and her friend on June 21, 2011 we had the scare of a lifetime. The four of us were to be picked up at the Double Tree Guest Suites (1568 Broadway NY) at 4:25 am for a lift to LaGuardia Airport by SuperShuttle.
The van arrived 26 minutes late at 4:51 am and I hailed him down. The driver got out and asked for our voucher, which I provided. The driver loaded our luggage and said are you ready? I said, “We have been ready for a half an hour!” The driver went nuts repeatedly saying, in an elevated voice, “YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THIS SHUTTLE SIR!” He thrust his face into my face and said again, “YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THIS SHUTTLE SIR!” with his nose a few inches from mine. I moved and he blocked me, continuing his rant 8 or 9 time. I was afraid for myself, but very concerned for the safety of our 15-year-old charges. I really did not want to be left on New York City streets with two fifteen year old girls at 5 am. Additionally, there were two others already in the Shuttle and I thought he would not harm all of us if we continued. So, we went with him and got to the airport. Looking back we should have stayed on the ‘new-safer’ Time Square streets. This guy is DANGEROUS.
The SuperSuttle van number was 747, and the van’s New York license number was ‘735531 L’. I emailed SuperSuttle.com, with no response.
This driver is unstable and needs help, or someone will be hurt. He wanted a physical altercation: that nose-to-nose action is ultra aggressive. Secondly, all the great work New York City has done to clean up Time Square, and its image, just went out the window. This crazy guy needs to be fixed, or at least people need to be alerted.
