Nothing Amish Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/16/07
I am Mennonite, and was in the city with visiting. I'm sure the quality oif the food is good, but to be honest, I found the entire thing amusing, and took loads of pictures to use in my teaching. I have no idea what Amish coffee (also in decafe) is. And, there is nothing Amish abuto sushi. I also know of no AMish market (real ones in OH and PA) with an oilve bar. Looked like a really great market, but nothing Amish about it. It is almost an insult that someone would use the name to attract people. Few people in the location we visited spoke English, and none of the languages I heard was German. There was also no sign of any traditional Amish foods. I looked to see if they carried any of the cheeses or butters (they do not, most are imported. Apparently the owners think imported are better than authentic Amish cheeses). So, while the market is a great store, don't expect anything Amish. I realyl wondered if the people who owned the store had ever met anyone Amish or would know someone Amish if they saw them.
