From the outside, Anbar appears to be just another cheap shoe store. Tucked away on the edge of Tribeca this shoe haven remains a well-kept secret among shoe addicts. Ignore the decor as shoppers scour the aisles for brand name bargains such as, Sigerson Morrison, 9 West, Via Spiga, St. Laurent, and Walter Steiger. Prices vary from $30-$80. The upper level maintains mostly designer shoes, arranged by color and a small selection of stylish handbags. The downstairs offers an array of boots and upscale pumps. This place is definitely worth the trek.
I stated going to Anbar when they were down on Duane Street (I think that space is now a fancy health food store). I was pushing my daughter in a stroller. She is now 32 and a successful attorney, but she still has to get her "fix" at Anbar (albeit without going in a stroller). I curtail my visits, because statistically speaking I now have more shoes than Imelda Marcos. My colleagues laugh at me when I get to work in yet another pair of shoes & tell them that I just found them in the closet (I bought so many at Anbar that I forget what they are). But, hey, it's better than some other addictions.... And as for the rudeness of the owner, I haven't experienced this lately (he must fancy himself to be the shoe Nazi instead of the soup Nazi). Good shoes, good prices, must go back periodically especially for end-of-season sales.
i love anbar shoes love their shoes but hate their manager he thinks i dont now. i love that a young lady tall and nice girl treats me when i go to her store she is always pleasent with everybody she is really nice young lady she got i think blond or light brown hair go to her everytime i go to anbar shes nice ........................................
Anbar is great. I like everything about it.
Latest designer shoes hi-end for cheap. Every color under sun, arranged by color. Salespersons are nice and very helpful. Prices are unbelievable. I never leave with out at least 5 pairs of shoes. Plus, they have handbags like Perlina and BCBG for cheap also and scarves and various other nick nacks that girls, women like. I love Anbar. The hours suck but I take a day off to shop their if need be.
This shoe store is the best. You will be able to find any color and selection you need. I have been shopping here for 12 years and I am still hooked. I even took my mother to shop when she came to visit from Florida and now she said she wants to make a trip specifically for this store. The shoes are well worth the price especially for their brand names. Trust me they are all separated in color detail so you won't take long to pick the color you desire. Good luck..have a good time...only for girls though....

i like anbar shoe store because there are alot of different colors and style, and the prices are reasonable. I have shopped at anbar for over 20 years, amd when i haven't shopped at this location for a period of time, and come back i feel soooooo goooood to be there. Quality is good and the styles are sensual. The people are pleasant and very helpful.

So AS I STAND "I'M AND ANBAR JUNKIE AND CAN'T HELP MYSELF"
My sister and I stumbled upon Anbar Shoes in her haste to backtrack to WETSEAL.We got off of the bus several stops after we saw the sign. We kept walking and walking. I looked down what appeared to be an alley and saw the sign "Anbar Shoes". We made haste to to the front door of this establishment. To our surprise,it was shoe mecca. I was in love with the first floor and equally captivated by the second floor. I found shoes that were 50% cheaper than a shoe store in my native Pittsburgh PA (the guilty shall remain nameless). I have let everyone I know who is planning to take a trip to NYC to visit this store. No self respecting fashionista will ignore this store!!!
I have been shopping at Anbar for years. I love there shoes and I love their prices even more. Beware, you will not be able to buy only one pair of shoes. Every time I am there I get a least three to four pairs.
i loved how it had designer shoes at really good prices!!....
at the end of each season they have like really good sales...i got a really good pair of leather shoes for 5 dollars!!!!!....how awsome is that!?....
i just hate how chep it looks outside..but whateverr..that doesnt really matterr....lol
I love Anbar Shoes, as a "shoe-aholic", Anbar is equivilant to heaven. I love the fact that the shoes are arranged by color, makes shopping easier. I love the fact that I don't have to wait for someone to get my size, I can get it myself. And best of all, I LOOOOVE their prices! Basically Anbar is the best place to get well made quality designer shoes at a fraction of the price. You can't beat that anywhere!!!
