Barneys New York
Emphasizing luxury and specialty goods, Barneys New York is a premium shopping experience with fabulous customer service and a knack for promoting new, young designers. Barneys New York sells ritzy items such as silk ties, Prada bags and elite business suits. It began as a men's tailor renowned for its professional sales staff and classic clothing designs, and the store is still admired for its great tailoring and discerning selection of designer labels. There is also an excellent range of high-end household items on sale. The flagship location on Madison Avenue keeps an intense focus on specialty items and caters to all ages.
Barney's main women's shoe department treats shoppers like worms.
A pair of super expensive boots were sent to me from one
store and a different pair were sent from another store. I
returned the more expensive pair to Barney's in NY. I get my
AMEX bill and learn that the shoe dept. credited me for the less expensive
boots. I went to the shoe department and realized they didn't
give me my receipt. I had the original receipt and the AMEX bill.
The managers refused to credit me the $200.. So the following day I returned with the shoes.
They credited me for the $200 mistake they made.
This information was in their computer but they chose to treat
me like trash. I asked the Manager after being credited if she would check out what stock they had on a particular shoe. She actually told
me to come back the following day because were too busy to check.
Barney's is a fun place to visit, but they don't make you feel very welcome. Even if you are dressed nice, they follow you around like you are going to steel something. They do have some great stuff though.
