Magnolia Bakery (The)
Old-fashioned goodness is chic at this Greenwich Village bakery and cafe. Many trendsetters are spotted nibbling on cupcakes with chocolate, mocha or white butter cream icing. Their cakes are also hard to resist, and the beautiful presentation makes them perfect for special occasions. The Hummingbird Cake is particularly enticing, made with bananas, pineapple and pecans and covered gingerly with cream cheese icing. Since they bake on the premises, this cafe is also quite entertaining-watch the diligent bakers work their magic right before your eyes.
I have had my fair share of cupcakes, everywhere i travel i have to try cupcake's, magnolia by far has been the best ever! No other cupcake compares. My boyfriend does not like cupcakes, but when we go there he polishes off a six pack in a weekend! I
this is so much fun. you go in and get your own cupcakes that have just been iced and put them in your own box (you can watch them bake Everything!). the cookies and icebox pies are awesome too. we are going back for the german chocolate cake, and someone in the line told me i have to try the banana pudding. the workers are very cool and nice. it's a whole experience. we are addicted.
I haven't gone to the bakery itself but last week my friend picked up these INSANELY DELICIOUS cupcakes and brought them to my house. They were THE best cupcakes I have ever had in my entire life!! I'm not a cupcake person but after those cupcakes, I'm good to go! I can't wait to go there myself and pick some up for my friends and make them Magnolia Bakery fans as well! YOU ROCK!
The Magnolia Bakery has the most delightfully sinful and decadent cupcakes ever. The "vanilla vanilla" cupcake is a moist yellow cake with the a buttercream frosting, that melts in your mouth, and come in the prettiest pastel colors (I prefer pastel blue frosting, though they all taste the same). You can just taste the "homemade" quality in every bite. I have purchased their cookbook, hopefully I can duplicate the cupcakes at home, if not, I will just take a little trip down to Bleecker Street.
