Antique Cafe, New York

We just got into town and were headed to "The Garage" (fantastic) but wanted to eat first. I actually looked up the restuarant online and read good things but these were obviously not about the location on 27th street. Service was terrible, it must have been our waiters first day at food service. Food looked good if we could have gotten what we ordered. After most of our meal was delivered, we never saw our waiter again. One reason I came here was because they offered a coupon on their website, which they claimed they knew nothing about. Go have breakfast at any simple New York diner, the service and value will be much better than we had here.

I went there twice this past week. After paying my credit card bill online I noticed they overcharged my credit card on both occasions. Once might be a mistake but twice is seriously suspicious. Great food, but I will not be back.

This place is horrible! It is also on record with the New York authorities regarding health violations. If you notice, there are only 5 star reviews of the Cafe and lots of them....could the owners have something to do with these fine reviews? Check Trip Advisor or other reveiws and this place doesn't fare as well.

We just thought the food was bland and the service was slow. I've heard from regulars that this place isn't what it used to be. The reviews here don't seem accurate from our experience

We had a very unpleasant experience at the Antique Cafe. The owner asked us to move our from our table after we already started eating. A more "important" customer wanted the table. We said forget it and he basically got hysterical and said it was his cafe!! We won't visit again.

Wow, I don't know how this place got such good reveiws. Bad food and bad service!

Antique Cafe has a great combination of good food, great wine and great value in a relaxing environment. It became a favorite for a casual meal during my six months seminar stay in Manhattan - New York.

It's like a secret garden with all the greenery and artistry. Everywhere you turn you see warmth, texture, and savory choices. There's nothing to dislike about this little corner of the world. You will need a few minutes to choose your pastry, and more time to slowly sip your coffee. Don't come here in a hurry, let yourself relax and enjoy the little environment. It's a great hideaway!

Ok so this was my first experience to Antique Cafe's food....and all i can say is....YUMMY I have been there a couple times now and have tried their sandwiches as well as their lunch specials! Awesome food!! Salad is good too.

Love the chicken dish and the eggplant caviar is superb Overall the food was very good and the wine list rocked. it gets a bit crowded & can be hard to get a table if you don't plan ahead.
