You will inevitably enjoy and delight in the discovery that Jackalope, a Santa Fe landmark, is more than just a store. This open-air, international marketplace is a festival of sights, sounds and merchandise. South American Tapestries, Mexican pottery, clothing, rustic furniture and garden accessories are among the selection you can purchase. From noon to 3 p.m. daily, there are live entertainers and you can grab a bite to eat at the Jackalope Cafe.
To the person upset about not being able to exchange their merchandise. I understand where you are comming from. I would probably be upset too. However, I worked at jackalope and know that in the past , thousands of dollars of merchandise is stolen from jackalope and later the thief tries to resell it down the street, or try to return it for credit. This happened so often that jackalope started enforcing the "no reciept , no return" policy. Can you blame them? You should keep better track of your receipts.
I currently work at Jackalope and to all that are complaining about the return policy should actually read the reciept. This is not our fault if you loose YOUR reciept. To policy is plain and simple and on the bottom of it. The tags on the merchandise means absolutely nothing if we cannot bring up the reciept on the computer. The computer physically will not allow us to return anything if we do not have your information and reciept. Majority of our merchandise is consignment therefore we also do NOT price the stuff ourselves. All that are looking for discounts can try a different store. The merchandise is reasonably priced and is stuff that you cannot find anywhere else. I'm sorry if you had a bad trip to Jackalope but you must understand the policies and obvious regulations that must be followed. All in all, Jackalope is a great store for fun and excitement. The merchandise that we carry is exotic and could not be found in many other places. This store truly is something else.
No exchange policy without receipt. I still had the tags on them from last week!!! What was the big deal? I was going to get more merchandise until that horrible experience. I have lived in Santa Fe all my life and shopped at Jackalope many many times as well as taken out of town guests there over the years. Never again. Lynn Lucero
We've spent thousands of dollars in this store over the years, as well as escorting all our out of town guests to the store to make purchases. In the last week we spent over $300! When we tried to EXCHANGE some merchandise worth $75, (that still had their tags on them because of an unsavory odor), we were told we couldn't. This got us so upset we have decided never to shop there again and will readily share our negative experience with anyone that will listen. There is no such thing as a Jackalope and there is no such thing as customer service at Jackalope.
I am originally from Santa Fe and find visiting Jackalope to be fun, interesting and always find something I can't live without. Prices range from 1.00 up, and the quality if good if you like sw items. Eat outside, buy green chile' a NM treat. I miss being able to walk from my home over on Saturdays.
An exciting store that is full of treasures from around the world. Jackalope is a serries of buildings with open courtyards and tents. I love how there are biographies of the artisans who made the pieces and sometimes the actual artists. It is the perfect place to gift shop to find something beautiful and one of a kind.
It is however an over stimulating environment with many breakable or dangerous things within reach of little ones fingers. There is a parrie dog village in the middle and some chickens and goats on one side of the property. It is a great store.
