Tomasitas Santa Fe Station

Description

Located right next to the old railroad depot, this restaurant has been a local favorite for many years. The atmosphere is pleasant, and during warmer weather the patio is a great place to dine. Both the food and the margaritas served here have won acclaim. Locals will tell you that if you want really good red or green chile, this is the place to find it. The Chile Rellenos, green chiles stuffed with cheese, dipped in batter and deep-fried, are fabulous. No reservations are accepted, but you can always enjoy a Margarita at the bar while you wait.

Great place to eat!
By ,
Love the food and the service has always been good. We have never had a bad dish. One of the best Mexican/New Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe. Average wait during busy times (most evenings) is 30-45 minutes.

As a native SF,this place is always awesome! We always order the take out and the music on Tuesday is great! It is a tradition to eat here for my birthday and no one ever complains.

Texans Beware!
By ,
Disclaimer: the following review was composed by a Texan...one well acquainted with good mexican food. Yes, I see you waving your hand and saying "but Tex-mex is different." Perhaps, but all I know is that there is good mexican food in Santa Fe....just not here! While on a ski trip, we were encouraged to eat at Tomasita's as it was described as some of the best mexican food in Santa Fe. Im not sure where all the other reviewers are from, but the food here was pitiful nay pathetic. The chili relleno, which came highly recommended, looked and tasted like a frozen, fried brillo pad. My girlfriend's pork was equally uninspiring. All dishes were served, unsuprisingly and to little avail, in a deluge of chili sauce. The excessive use of chilis was most likely an attempt to sear taste buds to a point that the quality of the food was peripheral to stopping the billowing smoke coming from one's mouth. The sopapillas, however, were good. We left the restaurant full but unsatisfied....try to imagine eating bologne and bread for a month. If you are in Santa Fe and want great mexican food, head over to Los Mayas. Its 3 blocks away, and the chili relleno will make you weep.

LOVE IT!
By ,
We love this place, we eat there once a week. Especially on Thursdays for the special "Flautas". Thier red chili is the BEST!Try thier Jalapeno Poppers and thier mushrooms as an appetizer, while waiting for your flautas. Also try thier margaritas, they are the best. After you eat you can enjoy a nice delicious sopapilla with honeybutter. Or order a flan for desert.

I live here and, it's nothing special!
By ,
I've lived in Santa Fe my entire life and there are better places to eat! Also I have had hair in my food twice in the last year! Kinda gross I know, but I will not willingly eat there again. It is an experience for tourists though. If you want good food and a good experience check out Gabriel's, The Shed or Maria's. Gabriel's is about a twenty minute drive, but it's worth it.

By ,
I love this restaurant. All the locals go here. You can hang out w/them at the bar and hear some great stories. The food is awesome. Can't wait, because I will be there next week eating their Thursday special, Flautas.
