Rio Grande Zoological Park, Albuquerque

Every year since my Grandaughter was 5 (16 now) she comes to visit me from Seattle and the one thing we always do is visit the Zoo and Aquarium.. It has always been a special fun time for us and pray will be for many more years to come.. Albuquerque has one of the most awesome Zoo's anywhere and the Aquarium is just unreal and beautiful! Thank you that we have a beautiful place to go with our families and make special memories! One dream i have is to be able to meet up close the Lions, Tigers, and all of the big cats you have!! I would even love to have my ashes scattered over the Lion and Lioness enclosure when i go... I absolutely love all animals but especially the feline ones!! Love love love this place!!! I was vacationing in June 09, me and my granddaugher visti the Zoo, it was our first time. We had a blast! Especially the Train ride, my granddaugher enjoy the ride, there was lots to see, but we got to see everything, there was alot of walking, but I needed it. We like the Polar Bears, neat. Oneday I hope I can come back and go everywhere in New Mexico. Thank for your hospitality for a grand old time. God Bless

this zoo was the best one i have been to. there were so many animals it was hard to believe. (some of which i hadn't heard of) My kids had a great time when we visited. also the workers there were so kind it was amazing. i recomend any tome you are in town to visit this zoo. it was an experience of a lifetime.

This zoo was very well laid out with lots of interesting exhibits and animals of all kinds. Very educational for kids and a great place just to visit and hang out. Would recommend it for all visitors and tourists coming to Albuquerque who want to see the sights.

I really enjoyed this zoo. Lots of places to sit and relax, and lots of exotic animals that you would not expect @ a smaller zoo. I will visit again when I make to NM.

We've been to some larger zoos, including Dallas, San Antonio, and San Diego, but have to admit we love Albuquerque's zoo! Lots of shade, and well thought out exhibits. Also, very hospitable to the little ones, as they don't have to walk that far between animals. When you finish with your zoo tour, also take in the nearby Aquarium. Just looking at the varied sea creatures through the expansive glass, makes you too feel cool on the hottest day! There is also a small restaurant where you can enjoy lunch, while a shark scopes YOU out from a few feet away! Is that TUNA you're eating?!!!!! You'll need 3-4 hours to visit both at a leisurely pace. What other way is there to enjoy a zoo anyway? :-)

We have just moved here so we thought we would take the kids somewhere to have a little fun. It was a blast!! We even bought a year round pass. we can't wait to go back

Definitely not the size and variety of some of the great zoos like San Diego, LA and Baltamore, but this little zoo has a pleasant atmosphere, wonderfully kept displays, and is part of a larger "Biological Park" that makes it a fun place to visit. It's a lot easier to navigate than the bigger zoos, and you can do the whole zoo in a day. Because membership is for the entire BioPark (gardens, zoo and aquarium) it makes being a member a great value.

nothing because i love animals and also it doesn't matter which animal it is i just love them the best time to visit is in the summer

I loved the polar bears, the orangutangs, the girraff's, riding the camels, the train ride, the sea lions, the clean restrooms, the food, the gift shop and the cleanliness of the zoo.
