UNM North Golf Course
Check-out this golf course that wraps around the UNM Law School and faces many well known research and medical centers. Since 1942, golfers have enjoyed this first-class, 9-hole course. One of the major attractions of this course is its central location. A snack bar is available and the pro shop staff is helpful and friendly.
UNM North course is not just a golf course. It is a place where sons play with moms and dads play with daughters and grandparents walk on the perimeter and wave to their excited grand children who have come for a walk.
As far as the golfing goes, there are rolling hills, vistas to drive from, challenging greens, large trees to provide shade and small undulating greens to test your putting.
This course has been thought of by the university as a place to create revenue by building a high density adult community and what a shame they are so short sighted in their endeavors. This is not just a golf course. This is a training ground for runners triathletes, walkers, golfers and people in need of some solice from their temporary lives in the nearby Ronald McDonald House. Long live UNM North!!!!!
The North Course is a wonderful blend of challenging golf and nice folks. It is a great place to go meet some good fellows,(there are many 'regulars'), and also play a pretty, well-kept, fairly difficult golf course.
The key to the North Course is accurate driving (there are many trees), excellent chipping (the greens are small, and hard to hit on a regular basis), and solid putting.
The North Course can quickly become a very addictive experience.
