A Little Ambiance Please!
For those who have frequented Duran's since Route 66 passed by in front, I can understand the "neighborly" appeal.
But, for first-timers to Durans like myself (and an Albuquerquean for over 20 years), why pay such prices to sit in the back of a pharmacy? There are dozens of "family-owned" New Mexican restaurants in the city, that offer similar prices (or better!), along with some NM "atmosphere!"
Good food, and fair service, but let's get real. I also had the huevos-rancheros recommended by another reviewer. Far from great! "w/Mashed potatoes?" I've never seen such a thing in all my years in NM! Also, a "very" limited menu, especially if you've got picky kids along.
P.S. Duran's is a very nice pharmacy. I saw things on it's shelves that you never see in the chains like Walgreens anymore. If you're a tourist, go here for your much needed sunscreen, not lunch!
